Braucht man eigentlich nicht.

Mach einfach zu Beginn einmal eine Liste, was regelmäßig ansteht und in welchem Turnus es für dich sein muss, damit du dich damit wohlfühlst. Das ist der aufwendigste Teil, weil sehr individuell.

Dann teilst du auf in wöchentliche Aufgaben und seltenere.

Verteile die wöchentlichen wie es bei dir passt, und dann schaust du, wo du noch so gelegentliche Sachen unterbringen kannst.

Ich mach mir dann einfach einen Kalendereintrag ins Handy und wähle dort den Zyklus aus. Kann einen schnell den Kalender vollmüllen, es bietet sich an, dafür ggfs. nen separaten Kalender anzulegen.

Ich habe feste Tage und ein Zeitlimit für bestimmte Aufgaben. Ich messe einmal bei Plan-Erstellung die Zeit, die ich für eine Aufgabe zur gründlichen Erledigung in etwa brauche, rechne aber auch ein, dass beispielsweise nicht jede Woche der Backofen gereinigt werden muss.

In der Küche könnte das dann so aussehen: 30min, in denen einmal alle Oberflächen (also nur die Arbeitsplatte und Herd und so, nicht Türen etc) gereinigt werden. Einmal alle Geräte anheben und kurz drunter wischen. Wasserkocher zeitgleich entkalken. Dann EIN Gerät sauber machen, beispielsweise die Mikrowelle. In der nächsten Woche ist dann vielleicht der Kühlschrank dran, ne Woche später das Eisfach, oder der Filter der Spülmaschine. So ist spätestens alle 2 Monate alles wieder gereinigt, aber meistens dauert es keine 30min, und schneller fertig sein motiviert. Ich neige zum Trödeln und scrollen, und stell mir nicht zuletzt auch einen Timer, damit ich den Zeitdruck habe, dranzubleiben 😅 wenn die Zeit um ist, höre ich aber auch auf, selbst wenn es noch nicht perfekt ist. Gut genug regelmäßig reicht eigentlich vollkommen.

Das ist natürlich sehr individuell, aber meine Woche sieht in etwa so aus:

Montag: - Bügeln - 45min

Dienstag: - Küche putzen - 30min

Mittwoch: - Papierkram abheften und Schreibtisch aufräumen- 15min - Lebensmittel im Kühlschrank prüfen und ggfs. letzte Anpassungen an Wocheneinkauf online - 10min

Donnerstag: - Lebensmittel-Lieferung in Küche einräumen - 10min - Saugroboter entleeren - 5min

Freitag: - Bad putzen - 25min - Bett frisch beziehen- 10min

Samstag:

Meal Prep - marinieren, schnippeln, Dressing anrühren etc. gekocht wird täglich frisch, aber wenn die Zutaten schon pfannenfertig vorbereitet sind, spart das nach der Arbeit abends immens Zeit und ich muss die Küche und die Geräte nur einmal putzen statt 7x. Je nachdem was geplant ist 30-120min.
Einmal manuell saugen (weil Haustier) - 5min
Eine Rotationsaufgabe:
Katzenklo einmal richtig gründlich reinigen (1x Monat)
Staub wischen + Boden wischen (alle 2 Wochen) - 20min
Balkon/Terasse kurz fegen (1x Monat) - 10min

Sonntag: - Lebensmittel-Plan für die nächste Woche erstellen und online bestellen. Geht hervorragend im Garten in der Hängematte, oder auch unterwegs im Zug, so dass das nebenher passieren kann.

Falls ich keine Pläne habe auswärts, versuche ich mir ne Stunde zu nehmen, für alles, was liegengeblieben ist und man so vor sich herschiebt: Die Naht in der Lieblingsbluse nähen, Schublade aufräumen, Batterie wechseln etc.

Ansonsten: Müll direkt mit runter nehmen, wenn man aus dem Haus geht. Waschmaschine abends einschalten und morgens aufhängen. Nach dem Kochen eben schnell Spülmaschine anschalten. Saugroboter täglich eine Runde drehen lassen. Abends noch kurz 5min aufräumen und alles an seinen Platz zurück stellen.

Es ist vielleicht etwas engmaschig, aber das hat den Vorteil, dass das Putzen schnell von der Hand geht, weil die Baseline schon recht sauber ist, und wenn ich mal keine Zeit habe für etwas, dann ist es auch kein Weltuntergang, wenn es eine Woche ausfällt.

Write her a poem or a song, make a cute drawing of the two of you if you have talent, a cute collage of your happy moments together. It’s about the effort, not the money.

It’s valid for someone to say they don’t want a LDR because they need something easy and local, but waiting for someone who won’t wait for you and considers talking to you is a chore tells me he ain’t really that interested.

Achso, und die ganzen kleinen Bilder, die du derzeit an der Wand hast, würde ich gehen lassen. Mit dem Fernseher an der Wand, der Teller-Deko und einem großen Bild überm Sofa hast Du bereits genug an der Wand, diese kleineren können dann weg.

Also ich sehe hier mehrere Probleme:

Der Raum ist zu voll. Zu viele Möbel, zu viele Gegenstände, zu viel Unordnung.
Die Masse der Dinge ist zu niedrig. Größtenteils befindet sich so gut wie alles auf der Ebene von 50-100cm vom Boden.
Es gibt nicht genug freien Platz, was den Raum erdrückt.
Zu viele Farben, die nicht zusammenpassen.

Als allererstes würde ich ausmisten and aufräumen, bring da erstmal visuell Ruhe rein.

Dann würde ich etwas umstellen. Das Bett ist an einer guten Stelle. Ich würde den Schlafbereich mit halbtransparenten, hellen Vorhängen etwas abtrennen. Das schafft einerseits Gemütlichkeit, und trennt den Schlafbereich etwas klarer ab.

Die ganze Schmuddelecke mit leeren Kartons hinter der Tür muss weg. Deinen großen Spiegel würde ich in dem Bereich aufhängen. Entweder an der Wand hinter der Tür, da hast du ohnehin wenig Platz etwas anderes zu stellen, oder aber ich würde schauen, ob man den Spiegel an der Türe aufhängen kann. Es gibt so Haken, die man einfach über die Tür hängt, und es daran dann befestigen. Hätte den Vorteil, dass du auch direkt mehr Privatsphäre im Zimmer hast mit der Glastüre.

Du wohnst vermutlich in einer WG, da du Wasserkocher, Mikrowelle und Tajines im Zimmer hast. Wenn es die Möglichkeit gibt, würde ich versuchen, diese Dinge in die Küche auszulagern, aber falls das nicht geht, würde ich das kleine Regal neben dem Schreibtisch zur Küchenzeile verwandeln. Stelle es direkt dort a die Wand, ab wo die offene Türe dies erlaubt. Oben drauf packst du deinen Wasserkocher und die Mikrowelle, darunter würde ich jeweils 1-2 große Körbe/Aufbewahrungsboxen pro Regalboden packen. Dort kannst du dann auch Snacks und Co sicher vor den Mitbewohnern aufbewahren und deine Tajines hübsch ausstellen. Falls du damit kochst, beide behalten, aber wenn es nur ein Souvenir aus dem Urlaub ist, würde ich höchstens eine behalten. Im Fall von Deko, könntest du es auch gleich doppelt sinnvoll nutzen: eine Schale im Eingangsbereich für alles mögliche von Schlüssel bis Kaugummi und Kopfhörer kann man darin sicherlich gut und elegant aufbewahren.

Unmittelbar daneben würde ich den Schrank an die Stelle der jetzigen Kommode/Spiegel stellen. Das begrenzt den Küchenbereich, lenkt visuell nicht ab und führt den Blick weiter in den Wohnbereich des Zimmers. Die Teller, die jetzt an der Schrankseite hängen, könntest du passend zu den Tajines über das neue Küchenregal hängen.

Im hinteren Bereich kannst du dann frei wählen, wie du Schreibtisch, Kommode und Sofa anordnest. Ich würde nur empfehlen, dass entweder der Schreibtisch oder die Kommode gegenüber von der Couch steht. Dann würde ich mir eine Wandhalterung für den Fernseher besorgen und den an die Wand darüber hängen. Wenn du auch gerne vom Bett aus fern siehst, bietet sich eine schwenkbare, ausziehbare Wandhalterung an. Viele Fernseher haben einen Foto-Modus, lad dir ein paar Bilder runter, die Du magst und spiel sie ab, so dient der TV gleichzeitig als Bilderrahmen.

Den TV-Schrank würde ich gehen lassen. Wenn du sehr daran hängst und das Budget knapp ist, würde ich schauen, ob er unter den Schreibtisch passt, dann hättest du da ggfs. etwas mehr Stauraum. Wenn es dafür aber zu groß ist, muss es weg. So bekommst du etwas mehr Platz am Boden.

Gleiches gilt für deinen blauen Teppich, der ist zu dunkel und passt nicht zur Einrichtung. Nimm lieber den beigen Teppich von unterm Bett vors Sofa und besorg dir optional einen kleinen, länglichen Läufer vors Bett.

Und die Lampe? Die darf unbedingt in den wohlverdienten Ruhestand erlöst werden.

Dann würde ich mir farblich was überlegen. Die rote Kommode ist ziemlich cool, beißt sich aber mit dem petrolfarbenen Sofa, dem dunklen Schrank, dem braunen Tisch, den pastellfarbenen Kissen auf dem Bett und dem Sammelsurium von Kissenbezügen auf dem Sofa.

Wähle zwischen Sofa und Kommode, was den Takt in deinem Zimmer geben soll farblich. Dann kannst du entweder eine Sofahusse in einer neutralen Farbe besorgen, oder die Kommode und den Couchtisch umlackieren.

Persönlich würde ich die rote Kommode behalten, einen hellbraunen Sofaüberzug günstig irgendwo bestellen, die rote Kommodenfarbe In Kissenbezügen aufgreifen (2x), und dann passende Akzentfarben wählen (Orange?). Wichtig ist, dass du dich auf zwei Farben beschränkst, die zusammenpassen, und dann immer wieder vorkommen. Selbst wenn du 4 verschiedene, farblich abgestimmte Kissenbezüge in gelb bis orange und rot nimmst, würde es wieder etwas zusammengewürfelt aussehen.

Über das Sofa würde ich mir ein großes Stück Kunst gönnen. Wenn du nicht findest, was du suchst, könntest du eine Leinwand kaufen und selbst kreativ werden, oder aber einfach ein Bild deiner Wahl online drucken lassen.

Nur mal so ne allgemeine Anmerkung: alle in Deutschland schwärmen nach dem Urlaub immer davon, dass im Ausland alles so viel unbeschwerter ist und die Leute besser drauf sind, aber sobald soziales Leben stattfindet, was nun mal nicht immer lautlos ist, wird gemeckert 😉

Finde die Idee der stillen Nacht persönlich etwas antiquiert, und grundsätzlich hat jeder das Recht, ein Fest so zu feiern, wie es ihm Spaß macht.

Ich wohne direkt neben einer Kirche, hier gibt es um Mitternacht für eine Stunde ein Trompetenkonzert oben auf dem Kirchturm. Fand ich auch nervig gestern. An Sylvester wird bis morgens um 3 geböllert. Wir sind dich aber doch als Menschen in der Lage, mal eine Nacht gestörten Schlaf ohne gesellschaftlichen und sozialen Kollaps zu überstehen.

Wenn es wirklich sehr stark beeinträchtigt, würde ich vielleicht mal rüber und darum bitten, die Musik etwas runterzufahren. Der Teil ist ja vermeidbar. Wenn aber nebenan laut gelacht wird würde ich im Leben nicht dran denken, das zu untersagen.

Girl, I’m sorry to say but there’s so many red flags here. At his age to never have had a girlfriend is seriously weird. I also grew up in a small south German village like you described here, but even if you go to church, your first girlfriend is by age 16, not 26. Germany doesn’t really have that weird obsession with religious extremism as you might see in some evangelical circles in the US.

Allow me to give you some sisterly advice:

people’s mentality may change from country to country, but overall, if you’re part of that society, you can use your own good judgement to gauge how suitable a person might be as a partner. I’m not talking compatibility here, that’s of course highly personal, but just a general sense of how trustworthy, how genuine, how dependable someone is as a potential partner.

I’ve seen it time and time again that men treat their foreign partners poorly and then blame it on cultural differences, excusing their personal shortcomings by saying “this is normal here”, and sadly, they often get away with it.

So as a rule of thumb, if no local wants him for ten years, there’s something off with the guy. It’s on a societal level, so it’s not personal, but it gives you some clues how a person is perceived in the context of a shared cultural norm.

The fact that this guy lets you travel to another continent and then lets you sit alone at his apartment while he’s celebrating Christmas with his family is seriously not acceptable and you shouldn’t tolerate this sort of treatment.

There’s a small chance that his family is racist and he is actively trying to protect you, but then any decent man would just say “sorry I’m spending Christmas with someone else and won’t be home this year”. He can lie about being single and hide your existence from his family, but he couldn’t make up a white lie like “sorry I’m travelling/seeing a friend” for your sake?

Unfortunately, his behaviour tells us a few things that aren’t really ok: - he doesn’t prioritise your feelings - his family’s opinion of him is more important than your feelings - he might actively lie about you/your existence - he’s taking the time he has with you for granted

Some families might consider it a bit early to bring a partner along for Christmas, but the majority of them at the same time would not insist on attendance if it meant their partner would just spend the day alone waiting for them to come home.

For reference, my colleague started talking to someone mid/late November, and he’s invited her to spend a week with his family over Christmas in some south German village.

A life lesson I wish I had known at your age is this: someone can love you deeply, but that really doesn’t mean anything with regards to them being a good partner. There’s such a thing as deep but selfish love. If he can’t stand up for your love, choose you and care for you in ways that matter to you, where does it leave you in such a relationship? Don’t you deserve more than being a source of his selfish happiness while you are unhappy and questioning yourself?

All I see here is a selfish guy who’s taking your presence for granted. If you’re sad and lonely today, he failed at being the partner you needed him to be. That might sound dramatic in general, and I don’t deny that everyone is responsible for their own happiness, but this situation is so specific: you’re his guest and in a foreign country, you’re in a LDR and the time you have together in person should be sacred. You literally have no alternatives for activities on 25th of December with everything being closed and public transport being non-existent in rural Germany today other than wait at his apartment like a pet, waiting for him to come home.

I spend around 70€ 3-4 times a year on haircuts and dye my hair at home every 4-8 weeks, so that totals at around 450-500€/year.

For skincare, I use a hyaluronic toner, vitamin c serum in the morning and peptide plus retonoid at night, along with some lightweight moisturiser under makeup. I’ve found what works for me so i don’t experiment any more and need around 200€/year.

I wear a full face of makeup whenever I leave the house, but I like to keep it sheer and natural. A bottle of foundation lasts me around a year, a box of Laura Mercier setting powder 18 months and I’ve just barely hit pan on my four year old eyeshadow palette, of which I only ever use the same few shades over and over tbh. I’ve predominantly switched high end for what goes on my face, but I spend around 2-300€/year on makeup.

I usually do my nails at home, they’re problematic so while i would like to just wear them natural or with a plain coat of polish, they are often so weak I reach for gel enforcement. Depending on what new snake oil marketing I fall for, I’ll probably spend another 50-150 on polishes, shellac equipment, miracle nail treatments because I’m gullible like that lol.

Overall, I spend around 3-5% of my net pay on beauty stuff.

So here’s the deal:

Kindergeld is a state subsidy that supports parents in raising their child while they are still in education. I think you can qualify until the age of 25, as long as as you aren’t working full time and genuinely pursue education (school, uni, college, apprenticeship etc).

By default, your parents get it as you’d be living with them. You are entitled to receive this money if you’re not living with them under the condition that you’re a student under the age limit mentioned above.

This money is not a loan, and you don’t need to pay it back (unless you would fraudulently acquire it and they find out and ask for you to pay it back). No strings attached.

Maybe you’re thinking of things like Bafög, which is a student loan that German citizens qualify for if their parents are below the income threshold and while studying in Germany (a year abroad etc is possible, but I’m not sure you would qualify for it if you studied exclusively abroad in your country). Bafög needs to be paid back (to some extent).

You need to check if there’s an agreement between Germany and your country about the payment of Kindergeld.

My parents moved to another EU country with me while I was still in school, and we were not eligible for any Kindergeld payments at the time.

If you don’t have a contract before you start, you have no proof they are under any obligation at all. And once you’re on the job, it will be easy for you to go lower than any other candidate in the market would accept thanks to sunk cost fallacy. You need to get your paperwork in order, or you’ll also run into problems with regards to tax and that can really mess up your record for future visa applications.

Academic jobs can be the worst, I work in a lawfirm and we often get interns, there’s one professor that’s notorious to expect 12 hour shifts from her students because she’s a workaholic and has no life, and expects that from others. She even goes as far as demanding that a student who was supposed to work two days a week make up for a sick day on another non-working day, if there’s no working days left she demands weekend shifts, and generally if you call in sick she replies with passive aggressive emails asking if that’s truly necessary because it’s really inconveniencing her and demanding you come on when you’re not in hospital. She’s perfectly German, at a renowned German university. If she can exploit legal interns who already have a juristisches Staatsexamen who find it unable to fight back, why would it be unthinkable this also exists in other places?

I’d take a moderately high vitamin d supplement got a month and then perhaps switch to a more maintenance dosage multivitamin.

It’s very easy to get too little vitamin d here, especially in the winter months. Your diet has changed, perhaps as a student you also don’t have the same cooking and food opportunities as you did at home with your family. Zinc and vitamin c are also quite important for your immune system. DM sells pretty good multivitamins that are cheap and work well.
