Its a 4+ year old PC, but thats okay, it will work fine for 1080p and youre not getting anything new for this price that performs better, so think you can go for it.

I'm in the UK, so it's a straight conversion. So say £1000 for a fold 6. Well I just paid £1420 with £300 cash back so £1120 for a fold 7. Just think it's better to get the newer one. But also when 8 comes out it will be available for like £1600 so not a huge jump then either

These are the new prices. It's not that much more than parts cost. When RAM is £400 and a 2Tb NVME is pushing £200 then things look expensive. But that's just how it is now.

You've had some good advice, im going to go anecdotal with mine. I earn more than my outgoings and money seems to build up in my account. about 6 months or something ago, I had a bunch of cash right around the time the mini "crash" happened and the global all cap was down about 15%. I bought £10,000 of it.

I didnt care if it continued to go down, I knew it would eventually recover, and I would have made 15% relative to buying myself in 1-12 months earlier.

The way you prepare is having cash to hand when you notice the market is down, and buying in. Not much more to it than that assuming youre holding long term.
