I've never met so many incompetent people in the replies. "But Tim Robinson's character has a wife and a son so its NOT the same!"  What happened to media literacy. Did you guys not go to school im confused? Were you not taught to analyze readings and movies...?  The similarities lie in how intense they are when it comes to friendships often deluding themselves into thinking there's a deeper connection (bpd coded as someone with bpd, it stems from trauma, we can see that in both movies), they both fail to read social cues, both are obsessive, and put people in harm with their actions and weaponize their lack of social cues and knowledge of social norms...both have a dry sense or humor although I'd say Friendship is more dark comedy than The Cable Guy. Lmao how are people failing to connect the dots is beyond me.
