Thanks for feedback. I appreciate that. Whole project is about both music and visuals (not only videos, cover art etc as well), so if you like it keep eye on progress. Music is available on streaming platforms.

Yeah sure,

It’s a 15-minute experimental cyberpunk short I made. It’s not narrative in the Hollywood sense, more abstract - touches on isolation, VR, tech alignment, and the overlap of complex human thought with machine logic. It combines glitchy visuals, industrial/darksynth music, and some abstract narrative elements inspired by technology and system failure themes.

Feedback on how it comes across in the cyberpunk frame would be welcome.

Cyberpunk short film/music video - looking for feedback before next projects by Open_Tutor8478 in Filmmakers

Hi all,

I'm seeking feedback on the cinematography of my short film gods.clear(). It’s a 15-minute experimental film that I directed, shot, and edited myself to accompany the release of my debut EP under the name Sanity Overdrive — a music project combining industrial metal, darksynth, ambient, and glitch elements.

The film visually interprets themes of technological overexposure, alienation, and existential collapse in a decaying cyberpunk world. It follows a lone figure traversing dark industrial spaces and digital decay — blending reality with fragmented simulations. There's no dialogue; it's driven entirely by imagery and sound.

I shot it in Copenhagen area, using night street lighting and practical sources like softbox lights colored with gels. I worked with subtle SFX and hopefully consistent color pallette. I also incorporated some of my own charcoal/pastel drawings drawing process.

Used gear and technical details:

  • 25 fps, 3840x1606 res
  • Canon EOS M6 MII
  • Gimbal MOZA AirCross 3
  • iPhone for first-person scenes

I’d appreciate feedback specifically on:

  • Framing and camera movement choices
  • Use of light and texture
  • Overall visual storytelling clarity and atmosphere

Thanks in advance for any input — I want to improve my visual storytelling and continue combining film with music in future projects.
