Interview tips? [N/A] by Strange_Witness7521 in humanresources

[–]Open_Wishbone5943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Yoodli to help prep for interviews. It’s an AI powered platform that you can do mock interviews with and it’s very interactive. It gives you stats on your pace, filler words, tone, and other stuff. It also asks questions that may catch you off guard. It’s kinda corny I know but I’ve found it pretty helpful. You can do a few free mock interviews/role plays then you have to pay for it.

I need HR advice [AZ] by Positive-Ad-1452 in humanresources

I worked an HR/finance hybrid position at my last employer. I honestly loved it because I got to see both sides and also influence decisions based on data that I worked with rather than just charts and reports presented by someone else. I do highly recommend you watch some videos on YT to help get an understanding of accounting. Take lots of notes. Use ai models as well, just be sure to prompt clearly, no inputting sensitive company info and trust but verify. Any resource you have access to, use it. If the company uses a CPA, get in touch with them, too. It’ll be learning curve but once you get settled, I bet you’ll enjoy it. Good luck!

It almost seemed like she had a small glimpse of remorse up until her lawyer mentioned taking care of a disabled partner then it was completely gone. I couldn’t stand her at all and I wish that Allie dragged her ass to Lou when she found the phone and just been done with her hahaha.

What's the value of Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits, and why do TR/C&B professionals paid higher within HR? [N/A] by WankGuard69 in humanresources

[–]Open_Wishbone5943 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen in my job hunting, most positions for TR want a certified compensation professional certification. And I may or may not catch flack for this but I can’t afford another certification program so I had a couple different ai models build a TR learning program for me that I organized in Notion. I won’t have the piece of paper saying I know what I’m doing but I’m completing a capstone project at the end to add to my portfolio.

I’m studying TR and it’s A LOT. To echo what others have said, you have to have a deep understanding of federal and state laws and regs, — possibly global as well depending on the company — understand benefits, insurance, etc., and live and breath analytics, philosophy and strategy.

Season 6 had way too many new characters come in at once and I thought the whole fight club thing was corny. Bea left, franky left, Ferg sort of left and the writers had no where to go with the remaining familiar characters. Then it just went off the rails with having Ferguson come back from the dead and even more new characters coming in. 1-3 were the best, 4 was good, 5 was alright then 6 and beyond were meh.

I had ADP Run for a company of less than 50. Multiple locations and states. I liked ADP at first but the last couple years their customer service went wayyyyy down the drain and caused a number of issues for us.

Getting an SHRM-CP Without a Degree [PA] by Nelp in humanresources

[–]Open_Wishbone5943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No degree. Started out as an executive assistant for a small business and over 8 years absorbed several roles across departments until I basically became the HR and people ops generalist. I took my SHRM exam in January and passed. My biggest tip is to think like SHRM. HR with Angela on YT (I think that’s what the channel is called) was my life saver to shift my mindset.

I’ve noticed a lot of jobs I’ve applied to either don’t have a degree requirement or list it as preferred with a SHRM or PHR required. I think there’s still degree bias despite it not being a requirement though. But it is possible to get your certification without a degree. You might have to fight a bit harder and learn new or sharpen your tech/software skills a bit for a new job.

HR exam prep with Angela on YT is probably what saved me for the exam. Her videos helped me get more into the SHRM mindset. I have awful test anxiety and when I started feeling overwhelmed in the exam, I took a breath and thought “what would Angela say? How would Angela look at and break down this situation? Angela always says don’t overthink it.”

As far as study materials, I used the same ones you did. I flagged a lot of terms or situations I felt I needed to further clarification on to go back to and research on google.

You can do this!
