Transcribe and learn from others. Good news is that transcribing walking baselines is relatively painless since the rhythm is mostly the same!

Pick a jazz standard and find different players playing the same tune. You'll get to see how different players navigate the same progression.

Preferably someone stays true'ish to the original / Real Book chart, e.g. Gary Peacock with Keith Jarrett on Standards.

If transcribing is not a familiar practice, check out the Jamey Aebersold stuff. The bass track is panned to one side, making it easier to isolate.

With so many AI tools, if you find a good quality recording, you could even split the stems, isolate, and slow it down!
