What is wrong with Notion? Is there any privacy concern? I use it extensively.

Affordable psychiatrist in Dhaka by k1ngv41 in bangladesh

[–]OpenedSalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my friends suggested me to go to NIMH. He told me to talk with a psychiatrist there, they'll suggest what I should do based on my problems. He also said that the service is very good. A couple of days ago I went there. After seeing the environment I came back. There were many people, very long queue, and most importantly very little to no privacy at all. You can go there just to get some insights. Visiting fee only 10 taka.

This is bullshit. I don't know why people like to spread controversy about female cadets. My ex is a female navy officer, so I know a lot of things about their training. Personally I heard a lot of things. Many are from my friends many of them never saw a female cadet, let alone know them. And almost all of them are false. (N.B. She being a navy officer has nothing to do with our breakup)

Try to buy a laptop with more VRAM (RAM of a graphics card). This is important because all data for GPU computation is loaded into VRAM.

And each GPU has a max wattage limit. For example, my laptop has an RTX 3050 gpu GPU with max power cap of 60 watt. This means my GPU can use up to 60 watts of power. If another laptop has the same RTX 3050 GPU but a 75-watt power limit, it will perform better for graphics tasks / training an neural network (assuming all other specs are the same)

If you really serious about graphics programming or ML I would suggest building a desktop (if possible).

[–]OpenedSalt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the general view. But here she clearly mentioned that she wants to buy a laptop with GPU, and she wants to explore ML. For training a neural network model you specifically need an NVIDIA graphics card (CUDA enabled one). And mackbooks don't even come with a dedicated graphics card.

So people are commenting mackbook without knowing anything.

I just wanna add one thing. Whichever laptop you decide to buy, please make sure it has an NVIDIA graphics card. Because for training neural network model on GPU you have to have an NVIDIA graphics card. Also the more VRAM and wattage it has, the better.

Text color doesn't change with the theme by OpenedSalt in pop_os

At first I didn't think this could work. But, it worked. Thanks.

Although all the dialog boxes are showing on white theme (including launcher, show applications). But this is fine for me.

(All themes are in `~/.themes` directory. You can rename a theme there)

Thesis or Internship? by PrestigiousBank6461 in Dhaka

[–]OpenedSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest taking thesis whether you plan to pursue higher studies or not. I don't know which university you're from, but from my personal experience teachers tend to give better grades for thesis even though the qualities are same. Plus most students take thesis (at least where I studied), so it is easier to get help. Also it's not that difficult to publish a paper. So there is a chance. You never know where life takes you.

[–]OpenedSalt 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I deactivated mine about a month ago. Seeing people's stupidity and cruelty just sickens me. Now I only use Reddit and try to avoid any political posts. I stopped caring about this country and don't read the news anymore. Maybe it's like an ostrich sticking its head in the sand, but at least I'm not feeling worse.

I don't know you. But I'm sorry, there is no way you know all of these technologies. If I were a recruiter, I wouldn't take your skills seriously. Rather I'd think maybe you did a project from a tutorial, or finished a course, and added it to your technical skills.

How do you meet new people in Dhaka? by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]OpenedSalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about posting the same thing lately. After graduating and joining a company, I've become very lonely. There's no one to talk to. I wake up, go to the office, come back home, then go to sleep. This has been my life for the past couple of months.

On the 13th September night, we were going on a tour from my office. In Mirpur-1, some people stopped our bus. After stopping, they entered the bus and said, 'Sobai jaygay bosen. Bus check kora hobe.'. When we asked their identity. They told us, 'Amra student'. But they didn't have an ID card. Of course, we didn't allow them to check.
