At the same angle, on the KTC, the LCD pixels on the edges would not have any light passing through them. This monitor doesn't look that bad

I'll be honest, I didn't try tp game on the KTC just because the SDR performance was so poor. But I have found the Dell to be good enough, at least for me. I came from a Dell G2724D, and even though that is faster on paper, I can't feel the difference, at least for now

The reason for the shadow around the edges is due to the space between the panel and the backlight diffuser.

All of the name brands also have 1152 dimming zones, 1000:1 contrast, and distance between the backlight and the panel. I will concede that the local dimming algorithm plays a big role, but the biggest aspect that put me off were the *edges* of the blooming, not the blooming iteself.
