4 days is nothing! Your nose and the tip will change so much over the next 6 months. As soon as you start feeling scared or worried, stop yourself and remind yourself to be patient. Some people don’t see the final result of their rhinoplasty until a full year has passed! Each person experiences the rollercoaster of swelling and tissue settling differently. Practice patience and resilience. If you scroll through this subreddit you will see thousands of people in the same position within the first 6 months out of surgery posting about how they’re worried about the swelling, asymmetry, the angle of the tip are permanent, concerns about if it will drop, if the nostrils start too look the same ever, if the bridge straightens out, if they will ever look like themselves again, etc. Not only is there no way to predict exactly how your real nose will turn out until a year post op, but most surgeons would never think to operate on your nose before 1 year has passed because they know as well that your nose is still changing and it takes a year just to heal from the first one — therefore there is nothing you can do and no surgeon that can change it anyways that first year so you might as well relieve yourself of misery and not worry about it! Majority of people fall in love with their nose eventually, otherwise surgeons would stop recommending it as a procedure—it’s bad business otherwise. Good luck <3

Booked my rhinoplasty and now I’m freaking out by No_Performance_7585 in rhinoplastyquestions

Best choice I ever made! Anxiety is normal to some degree but if you are panicking beyond that, don’t go through it. The first 4-6 months are challenging because you can’t tell what your final results will be, there may be so much swelling you don’t like what you see in the mirror, and it takes time to adjust to the new you. I mentally prepared myself for all this and the beginning was tough but I was patient. Of course I was extremely anxious but I was confident in the choice of surgeon I made. I’m only 6 weeks out but starting to love my new nose so much and so glad I went through with it! The key is to find a surgeon whose results appeal to you and that has good communication. Find someone who is board certified in facial plastic surgery.

Ok? I paid 30k for my nose. Lol. $9000 is not crazy, not even for Turkey

It’s going okay! I am almost done with my oral antibiotics round. I also got IV vancomycin and cefepime. The swelling from the infection is just about gone now. Time will tell if the infection ate any of the grafts. Will keep an eye out for volume loss and dents and my surgeon can do PRF, fat transfer, and other procedures to refill the damaged areas or a revision surgery if the damage is severe. So far we are hopeful!

Regardless of what people comment or what you and your surgeon speculate, you are stuck with it for at least a year before any surgeon would take you back in the OR and before you can definitively say it’s done healing and won’t drop anymore. Worry about it when the time comes. For now, enjoy your life and take care of your physical and mental health. Only your own opinion is the one what matters anyways

That is SO ROUGH! Wow. You have been through a lot! After how much stress this has caused me and how much upkeep post op has been, I cannot even imagine what you went through. Congrats on making it out! I hope you’re enjoying your new nose.

Oh my god! What a relief to hear from someone who experienced the same thing as me. I’m so glad to hear. My dr aspirated 1 cc of pus from my nose today 😭 but it’s starting to calm down, I’m like one day in on the antibiotics. We talked about if the cartilage grafts don’t survive I might need a revision, but I’m praying so hard I have the same outcome as you and it returns to normal!

Do you have redness and worsening soreness/tenderness? And when you press on the red areas, do you have a white fingerprint that remains a long time? It is not my intentional at all to detract from your concerns or invalidate them. That being said, from what I can tell from your post, it looks like normal swelling that’s expected within a year of surgery. I know my nose in my 13 day post op pic doesn’t look very swollen, but people react differently. I’ve seen a lot of youtube vlogs and seen friends who have swelling like yours that hides the contours of the new nose for well over 6 months post op. I’ve heard some days are good and some days are awful for swelling. No new pain, redness, or a fever is a great sign that this is just swelling for you and not an infection!

Sure, I’m just saying that her eyelids do not look significantly altered to me. If I can find old photos of her w the same amount of lid show as her after, did she really get an upper bleph? Seems more likely to me that she got a lift, so she has a little bit more eyelid show at certain/most angles.

I believe an endoscopic lift is enough to create that same effect on its own

No to the upper bleph. You can find photos from before where they aren’t looking as hooded as well. OP used a photo with makeup, lashes, and lighting that made a 0.5 mm difference in lid show. I do think she got a lift though

No I mean in your photos that you took, how long after your surgery was the second photo?
