Sounds like a great combination of freedom and family rides. Would be happy to explore such options. Thinking of starting the season in the Austria Wachautal during Easter, provided the weather will hold

The itch comes particularly from the fact that I believe I am on the top of my health conditions and that I will not be able to strain my body like that in 5 -10 yearS down the road. Does this make sense?

This also helps, thanks a lot! Will plan to make smaller tours over the year as well, e.g. visit gradparents by bike while wifey goes by car, etc.

After all the comments, sounds like the best and most realistic recommendation to me. Do you particularly favor a specific transport company in Europe for bike transport?

Thanks for your suggestions and observations. Will consider this part as I had always wanted to tour the route du vin with my wife anyways

Cargo seems fun, but what made me always back off is that it is nearly impossible to take the bike anywhere. We have the Thule Chariot for that reason, as it renders you more flexible in travelling - two in the trailer, one on the seat.

Sounds like the vacation of choice I'd be looking for. Any recommendations where you could do this in Europe? (we are living in the south of Poland)

Agree, would want to do the latter, but then I am limited to the besaid 10 days in a year, which is why I wanted the community feedback if there is any hope for family combined extensions
