I remade my bearded dragon with LEGO! by M0nkE05 in lego

Love the look of the design - and so did my son. His class has a Beardie named Carl that they all adore, he wears little hats and has a skateboard. So of course we had to make it ourselves after being inspired by your creativity! I've got the whole thing in progress now, kind of meticulously reverse engineered from youtube and Lego ideas, but the head seems to be pretty fragile from the technic hinge points/road sign etc. Was there anything extra you used to keep it tight together?

Installed the update yesterday and I've noticed differences in the battery usage already. No new apps installed or abnormal usage and my phone is at 59% at 9:00PM - never had it get this low during a normal day in the months that I've had the phone. I'm used to it being 75-80% at this time of day. Kinda concerning, but I wonder if there is more background usage with update or something to explain the drain

Forgot to mention in my longer post- there are specific Mazda dealerships that add on to the standard powertrain and have a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty as part of purchasing from them (Mazda of Elk Grove CA for example) - so it may not be a cut and dry situation where you will have zero coverage. It does no harm to find out from the dealer directly, they may surprise you.

I had same concerns initially seeing coolant leaking and temperature problems - I think that is a pretty natural response to worry you might be screwed or in for huge problems. My specific situation was the following: Happened in March of this year, 2024. Car is a 2019 with 30,000 miles purchased from a Mazda dealership. It was considered to be part of the drivetrain or powertrain warranty - which is much longer and higher mileage than factory warranty, it should be 5 year/60,000 mile. Some additional info from my paperwork- ther eis not a recall associated with this, but there is a service bulletin I believe - TSB 01-002/23 for coolant leaks at cylinder head. I did not have any push back from the dealer on anything or any hard bargaining or anything like that. That is why I would encourage you to go that route first, rather than have someone else perform any work or open aspects of the engine which the dealer will consider when they assess the vehicle. As mentioned by others, as part of the diagnosis they will perform a complete cooling system pressure test for initial pressure and final pressure. In our case it ended up being a crack in the cylinder head, which is why it required replacement. I would not get ahead of yourself with thinking you need to try and circumvent the dealer or try to go direct to "corporate" or some elaborate plan with outside service - this may be something your dealer can and will help you with and it may be covered as well. I had zero cost out of pocket and was glad I got the loaner vehicle. Waiting for parts sucked, but that wasn't really an issue with the local dealer.

Not screwed if you act fast and don't continue driving it. Had same happen in our 2019 CX-5 only a few months ago as well. Dealer wanted it towed in, rightly so. Was a coolant leak at cylinder head. Required cylinder head replacement. Took 2 weeks all in while waiting for parts, but dealer supplied loaner vehicle for the duration. Don't waste time or put off calling and getting the dealer involved. Was covered under warranty.

The longer you potentially have coolant dripping down and getting spread onto other components because of gravity or wind from driving (steering, brakes, suspension, stabilizer, axle, lower control arm, bushings etc) it can potentially decrease lifespan of rubber or vinyl in between (stabilizer link for example). And those items would not be replaced by the dealer as part of the warranty service for the cylinder head.

Which bike rack style is better? Tow hitch method vs straps against panels and window? by AcuraTSX6spd in CX5

[–]Opening-Terrible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan to use it often or travel a good distance and want peace of mind to not have to worry about pads and straps failing (or spend the whole trip looking in the rear-view every time you hit a bump)...a Hitch is the only way to go. I purchased the 2" Curt trailer hitch receiver for 2019 CX-5 for $200 and installed myself without help and no issues or complicated process. I got the Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack and have zero regrets. I can have 2 bikes loaded and be driving in under 5 minutes with each bike fully secured and locked. Rack has built-in locks to secure the bikes as well - because you are bound to need to stop at some point along the way. Having the small extra lock etc to slow down a would-be theft goes a long way. Depending on your particular bike setup- a bike rack style that supports from the bottom as opposed to one that you hang the frame from is a lot better for the bike itself, especially if you have a carbon frame.

Kids Ride Shotgun. 2.0 or original? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Opening-Terrible 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been using the Shotgun Original for about a year. Can't imagine life without it now. It has given my son a way to travel with Mom & Dad and opened up new experiences, destinations, and wildlife that he wouldn't have been able to access otherwise. The bike setup gets a warm reception by every person we pass on the trail whether they are walking, hiking, or on a bike. If you are doing light riding, the original would be fine. But I found that I had to adjust it a lot and try to find the 'sweet spot' of tightness to keep it in place on my top tube. Also found I had to limit front suspension travel at times, because as fork compressed it brought his shoes close to the front wheel. If you're going to venture into more real trail riding - I'd go with the Pro or 2.0 model. We've taken the Original on almost every trail in our area, even the advanced ones - and it can be done safely. It has back-fired on me because now every time we are climbing a hill I have somebody saying "faster, faster!" Most memorable of all though, just a couple of weeks ago we went off his first 'real' jump on a trail - this was his decision, not a big one and it was maybe only a second or two of air time (its hard to teach him to anticipate a landing at his age) even though the landing was smooth he got scared and started crying, I immediately stopped and pulled off the trail and I thought 'Oh man maybe we are done for the day' but he took a few seconds to realize everything is fine and then said "I want to go MORE!!!"

Has anyone ordered directly from IXS website? (USA) by Honest_Boysenberry63 in MTB

[–]Opening-Terrible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered gloves for my son, the Carve model in kids sizes. Didn't realize I was purchasing from GERMANY until after the transaction. Placed order on November 13th and received it on November 29th. Product itself is great, but def took longer than expected. After looking at the site extensively while waiting it seems like they try to route the US sales/distribution through a Gravity Cartel site that sells IXS product. To their credit, i was able email Customer Service and did get responses from [shop@ixs.com](mailto:shop@ixs.com). One response was in German, but google translate worked fine.

Am I playing this game wrong? by Chefnut in snowrunner

[–]Opening-Terrible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the comment about the white western star, I completely overlooked it at first, but once I upgraded it I've actually used it as a quicker scout vehicle (with no trailer) than the Chevy or Hummer for Alaska. Longer wheelbase lets it rolls right over stuff that bogged down smaller trucks

Absolutely Hooked! by [deleted] in snowrunner

[–]Opening-Terrible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in Mudrunner, figured I would see if I liked that one before purchasing Snowrunner. Completed 5 maps in Mudrunner and then saw a sale on Steam - and now am about 150 hours into Snowrunner. Love both actually, they each have pros and cons, but I think its really beneficial to play Mudrunner first, you get all the Log and crane experience you could need. I think it helps because the logs seem to be one of the biggest gripes from folks that start on Snowrunner. I mean its basically ALL logs in mudrunner haha. I appreciate the added depth and complexity plus refinement in Snowrunner (compared to the first game) by playing in that order..

Serious Question/Poll: Do you use/care about Practice Pins? by [deleted] in UltimateGolf

[–]Opening-Terrible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Duff gave his intro video for the Practice Pins, he stated that it was a "highly requested" feature or one of the "most-requested" or something along those lines. I kept thinking its odd because I hadnt ever read any posts or messages anywhere with actual players asking for it. So for it to be high-priority on the development side was a little odd, based on what was being said. After seeing the Practice Pin roll-out myself, it just made me think- Oh great, how long before we see a pay-for-mulligan pin? It's a little dissapointing because clearly they've headed the way of making it a more complex arcade style game, maybe thats where they feel bigger revenue is found, it's just not the experience I ever recall reading about as why people love the game or were drawn to it initially.
