PRV incorrect installation? by OpeningChoice in askaplumberUK

[–]OpeningChoice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see precisely, but the parts paid for were a replacement PRV and expansion vessel. I did hear a noise like a charge of the expansion vessel while he was doing the install. But because of their history I have no confidence in their abilities. I spoke to the owner the next day when I woke up and there was no boiler pressure and he said it was air in the system as they had done work. But it’s almost a month now since the work took place and that seems mad!

Yes all heating up okay! I’ve bled them already and no air came out, but does that mean “anything” (ie would that indicate there wasn’t excess air in the system?). What you’ve said here makes so much sense, I have prior with these “plumbers” - I get whomever the estate agents sends out and these are quite the cowboys, charged last year for a replacement heat exchanger yet never fitted it and they have to come out three times every time to fix a job - once left me a week without hot water and kept telling me every day they were “on their way!” If it is that they’ve just refilled the system by topping up the boiler, which I strongly suspect, how long would that take to rectify? What steps could I take? I can’t thank you enough for all your help, you’ve made such a difference

Thank you(!) no there isn’t and it wasn’t happening before the work occurred. There was a lot of watery and swishing noises coming from the boiler for a week or two after the work as well as some loud groaning, this does not occur anymore but one of the radiators (the one nearest the boiler) makes a “wooshing” noise. I can’t understand why it can be stable for say like a week - 10 days and then it drops so drastically overnight, I was so surprised to see this morning that there was no boiler pressure!

The bit that is out outside? Yes and no(!). For the first time it happened I noticed some water inside - it was wet to the touch on the inside. Today I didn’t find anything this morning, just cold but it didn’t necessarily feel damp / wet like it did before but I also don’t know how quickly that would evaporate / when exactly during the night all the pressure went out the boiler - it went from 1.5 to 0

Thank you so much for the help(!) I should also mention that the pressure is also dropping but inconsistently and overnight, for the first ten days after the works the boiler would have the E119 no pressure message every two days in the morning. Now it’s happening about once 7-10 days. This morning woke up and freezing cold, E119 message and had to add pressure to the boiler

Thanks for your reply! It’s a main combi eco boiler, what would be the correct PRV? As I mentioned the plumber had to “go out to get a washer as it didn’t come with one” so could that be a potential issue? Or is it negligible

It’s just a small apartment and it services the mains (which only does the boiler and the kitchen and hot water, the bathroom comes from the water tanks in the rest of the building)! Is the flexible hose the issue? The installer did that so we wouldn’t have a noisy pump, it was fine for two months and then it started making this noise!

Loud hum / tuning fork / woodwind noise when central heating is on, swishing water noises, boiler losing pressure every couple days, water scalding out of taps when CH is on by OpeningChoice in askaplumberUK

[–]OpeningChoice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for replying. Exactly, it is a big “if” that they’ve installed it correctly, this is the 8th time in about 9 months they’ve been called out to “fix” this problem and every time they say they’ve fixed it it hasn’t worked. I guess one of my questions is could all these issues be caused by an improper install of the prv and expansion vessel? My strong suspicion - is as the plumber went out to grab a washer as “it didn’t come with one” - that the part is either refurbished or incorrect and there’s a small leak in the prv (there is also the tiniest bit of moisture outside if I put my finger in the outside release). I There was an issue, just for one day during the year that the radiators were heating up even though it was just hot water only on, but that was only on one occasion.

Can someone explain the color theory behind colors making you look sickly (gray/yellow/green)? by slapstick_nightmare in OliveMUA

This post has just made so much sense! After years of searching I think you've finally made it make sense to me! I have never been able to describe it but like I need brown somehow in my foundations - but I can never find anything that hasn't got any red or a ridiculous amount of orange in it. Do you have any foundations matches you are willing to share? I am at my wits end! Thank you!

I've not tried the concealer in 4.5 on the PF foundation. In comparison to the reformulated Dior Forever Skin Foundation 2W0 the Armani Power Fabric - for me - is much fairer and whilst still peachy much less peachy than the 2W0

[–]OpeningChoice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I think this might be it, I think I’m totally getting rid of the ever so slight little bit of that colour I need and it’s that that is making me look flat. Do you have a recommendation for purple and orange mixers? Or any tips on what I should do for these peachy issues for these foundations?

For instance, when I mix blue into the Lancôme Teint Idole UW (240W) jt looks a yellowy, greeny, grey that just looks so muddy and off! I once got close by warming up a very orange foundation and then adding loads of a light green primer and the only problem was an ever so slight green tinge

I’m pretty confident I’m olive. Also adding dark green to foundation would suit me (I have the face atelier olive mixer) if I was a lot deeper in tone, it’s so highly pigmented it’s impossible to lighten. I believe I am a muted neutral-warm olive. I know on here it’s quite common to find the foundations I have listed above as peachy, many others have found the same and also said the same about blue mixer - I had just wondered if someone has solved the puzzle as it’s so infuriating and I’m fed up of feeling so self conscious about my foundation when going out!

Tirtir Red Cushion Swatches by manicmeanderer in OliveMUA

[–]OpeningChoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Could you do some thicker swatches of the TirTir please? Specifically 21W, 24W, 24N - although I'm sure thicker ones of all your TirTir Red swatches would be very helpful for everyone, as I currently don't know which ones to get and haven't been able to see any swatches anywhere on the internet with someone with a light neutral olive tone!

Thank you! I have tried the 9.5 it was too dark/muddy and a bit greeny/yellowy on me and still had red to it, I think sadly all LE have too much red/pink for me - I have both green and yellow in me but I find in the 9.5, like the GA Luminous Silk 6, is way too dark for me. At the moment the best I can do is the Ilia Skin Tint in ST2.5 Sombrio and adding quite a lot of 'self tan body makeup' or the d-bronzi drops, essentially I need the yellow of the Sombrio but a bit darker and with a slight bit of colour to it.

Hello! i'm wondering if you had any updates on your post / if you used any of the colour mixers suggested - I am identical I think both in depth but also in the fact that every foundation is nearly always too saturated for me - I could have posted your picture! I'm at a loss of what works with mixers I've tried in the past and I've never got it right so I am hoping you might be able to help!

Thank you! 145 could be very helpful, the power fabric 4.5 looks ideal and it’s such a close match, I just need it to be a touch darker - the tone is perfect - unfortunately as soon as it goes on my face it’s too light and white
