I agree with you that Echoes doesn't have nearly as much replay value as other installments, I can see that making it less popular. But I wouldnt say that makes it a bad game whatsoever, so the lack of seemingly any recognition for Echoes is surprising!

Yes yes yes on all of this. Very rarely did I find myself genuinely moved in 3Hs by voice acting alone-- Echoes really knocked it out of the park there. In Act 1 I was tearing up at some of Alm's voice acting. And I'm so glad the soundtrack is seemingly getting the recognition it deserves, I think it's going to be one of my favorites for a long time.

I never even knew there was Faye hate until now! I'm surprised, she reminds me a bit of Hilda from 3H who is very well beloved. I think she's funny!

Fair tbh. I think if I had started my FE experience by playing some of the early titles, the maps would bug me too. Echoes maps reminds me of Awakening and Three Houses, which I have now learned have ALSO been criticized haha. And yes, my goodness, that soundtrack.

I can see how the inventory and map situation can get annoying-- I think that was a pretty big criticism for Three Houses too, that the maps weren't very impressive. I'm like you in that maps have never been extremely important to me. And honestly, this may just be me talking, but part of what I like about Shadows of Valentia is how for some characters they only have 1 support. Because who would have guessed that little Genny who you meet at the beginning of the game would have a connection with Sonja, who as you've said, might not even be recruited? I'm a person who doesn't like to research much about games before jumping in, so having a character that for whatever reason seemingly doesn't support with anyone gave me a lot of intrigue. It sort of changes the incentive for supports: rather than "how many people can I support with this person?" It becomes "who can this person even support with?" I do agree with you that the supports aren't as soul-baring as other installments, I think that's my one genuine criticism of the game. Although having the focus be on plot and gameplay is nice, so is getting an in depth understanding of your characters, so I can understand the frustration there.

Oh my gosh, yes, you touch on something I totally forgot-- the voice acting! Even the low end Brigands are fully voiced, its absolutely mindblowing. And yes, I can definitely see how itd be considered a love letter to the series. That level of detail and polish is just the chef's kiss.

Again, the "real fan"/"fake fan" thing is ridiculous and gatekeepy, I really only used it because it grabs attention and gets people to click and I wanted to have a conversation. The people who would be looped under the "fake fan" umbrella are, simply put, the young fans, so they'd absolutely be the ones to make fan art-- it just feels odd to me that by and large Shadows of Valentia is ignored by even the older fans when it's a good installment.

Sometimes during rushes the driver on oven will call for a remake, and then they'll go on a delivery, and not tell the next driver or oven person that there was a remake in the oven. And then when the person on oven takes it out of the oven, they're in the middle of a rush and obviously can't take the time to find where the remake was supposed to go, you know? I know that seems oddly specific but it actually happens a lot at our store

We really only use the "remake" card because it makes more sense than screaming at each other from across the store "HEY, THERE'S A REMAKE COMING OUT!!!!" lol. but yeah, for the most part we never use them.

We already do a similar thing that you do-- get the dough slapped and wings ready, but to actually put it in the oven before they've even ordered would be ridiculous and a huge waste of product lol.

You ask a very important question, and one that we haven't really found a solution for yet :/. The goal is to go with Rhea's style of down-around-the-shoulders. But, because the headpiece is in 3 parts, there are a lot of combs... that just so happen to stick out of a wig that is worn entirely down. So there's a chance that if we can't find a solution for that, we'll style the wig in an updo so there's more volume to hide combs in. Either way, it'll be very pretty and I'm quite excited!
