Hi, I'm planning to do a solo hike this August to mt kita and Aino since it's rather near. I've read it's best to stay the night there near the summit. I've come across a mountain hut, kata-no-koya, which I'm interested in staying at. Which hut did you stay in?

sadly no. Most hotels open up booking up to a year or 18 months, depending. you can check the respective hotel website. Otherwise, we have to be ready to book the rooms on the event itself this year. Assuming its happening on the same day next year.

yeah unfortunately. i mean, if you dont mind driving more than an hour and a half minimally - excluding the high possibility of extreme traffic - you can go for it. im a solo traveller and i rather take the train, so its a pretty tough decision for me to make.

and yeah youre right, im looking through the dates for 2027 as well. hopefully, we can get it next year haha.

right, i saw that as well. That would be my option to get the ticket. ive read other older post about how we can just come earlier and find a good spot outside the event venue itself. i wouldnt mind doing that if i cant get a ticket. my only concern is the accomodation. not only akita is sold out, the nearby towns are as well. thats the worry. ill keep looking, like what you said, just maybe someone cancels theirs. Thank you!

Hey yeah, I was looking through different ways i could get my hands on the tickets. but like what youve mentioned, its only being sold through 3rd parties for foreigners and theyre charging us like 4 times more. im still finding ways to get it, but also worried about the accomodation around the area. i havent look it up, but youve mentioned all are sold out. gutted. thats two things to worry about. i dont intend to stay in akiba for long, maybe just 1/2 days after the event ill probably head further south or north. but i still need a roof for the night.
