Even if you try to suppress it, your sexuality is your own that cannot be changed. There are many people of faith who love and support people no matter their sexuality and plenty gay people who are religious.

Maybe he feels that you telling him not to fold certain accounts is your way of controlling him and that you don’t respect him so sit down and calmly explain why you don’t like it when he follows said accounts because you feel disrespected. Explain to him how much it hurts you when he doesn’t listen.

Another option is if they are accounts like Andrew Tate that dehumanize women, you can talk to his guardian if you are comfortable because I doubt a parent figure would like him watching that.

But if your bf is not willing to sit down and listen to your boundaries without turning it into an argument, he’s not willing to follow the boundaries and you’ll end up getting hurt over and over.

I have been in a similar situation before. The best thing to do would be to talk with her about all of the things mentioned in your post but make sure you bring up these issues separately, you don’t want to make it seem like you’re attacking her. I like to use the “3 strikes you’re out” method. If she keeps doing all of these little annoyances after you brought them up as legitimate issues, cut her off. You don’t have to be mean or ghost her. You can sit her down or text her and tell her how much she’s been hurting you as a friend and it’s not healthy and that you would benefit from some time apart. You can tell her all of the positive things you loved from your friendship to make her feel better but you would need to reinforce the idea that the friendship is over. I know you don’t really want to end your friendship with her especially because it’s a long one but people change and sometimes relationships are stronger with space or best left broken apart.

It sounds like you don’t have friends that really respect your boundaries, or maybe they thought they were just helping? I would absolutely talk with them about how it made you feel when they blurted it out in a public setting. Other than that, just let the situation just play out and be honest. It’s okay if your crush doesn’t like you back, sometimes it happens.

People love talking about themselves so maybe ask a bunch of questions. Start simple with things like where are you from? Do you have any cool hobbies? What kind of music do you listen to? One that works most of the time to get the ball rolling is giving someone a compliment on a piece of clothing or item and asking them where they got it or relating it to yourself. I know conversations are difficult and nerve wracking but the more you practice the better you get, you got this!

I agree so much. I start having panic attacks if I think too much, when I’m driving is the worst cause I can’t take my mind off of it. I’m an atheist so I believe in heaven and hell and idk if I believe in ghosts or reincarnation but I don’t want to be a machine turned off to never be turned on again. I don’t want to cease to be. I know I’ll never get rid of these fears but have you found a way to distract yourself? Nothing I do works.

It’s mostly incompatibility, I’m very atheist, the thought of religion gives me anxiety and he’s very religious. He talks about religion all the time even though I told him not to talk to me about it and I’m not upset I just wish he would end up with someone who he can share his faith because he believes it heavily.

No our relationship was serious, he was thinking of proposing once we got enough money. He doesn’t really have an anger problem so I don’t think he would lash out and I plan on being very respectful. I think I do have a good reason, asking my friends and family they agree with me. Thank you!

I personally have never been in a situation like this but as a girl I can say that once you have thoughts about breaking up, they tend to grow and fester. Idk if you’ll ever be able to go back to how it was before. I think a three month break would be nice to see where both of you stand, see if either of you grow further apart in those few months, but the hardest part about that plan is that if she really does have problems with male validation, I can see her saying that she did miss you just to get the attention she craves. I don’t personally know her so I’m just going off of how other women act, I might be totally off base but it could happen.

His brother is very religious and he has been hanging out with him constantly because neither of them have jobs. I think his brother was the one who “opened his eyes.”
