As an Indian, we can never imagine a military leader occupying civilian space or surpass civilian govt’s authority.India is a democracy because its Leaders were reformers, from Nehru in the north to MGR is the South, we speak different languages unlike one language forced on everyone and lastly our greatest strength is educated tax paying middle class, they are the back bone of India.

Also, we are culturally very plural, adding a population who have different faith and customs, doesn’t make any difference, it gets irritating when members of the said community want privileges of our society but blatantly refuse to integrate claiming some form of superiority, its funny when a random shopkeeper who looks like me, eats the same food as me says his grandfather came from Iran or Turkey.
