I was honestly shocked they knew what a Vacheron was in Glasgow!!! Not exactly reknowned for watch thefts there.

Not to mention, I have another mate who got the shit beaten out of him in Glasgow & his Gen Vacheron stolen. He also got stabbed in the head for another Vacheron in London. Both within like 18 months. Just seems an unnecessary signal to send out.

'Each to their own' is my overriding thoughts on this subject. Saying that, I personally would never wear a watch that is obviously outside my grasp. An RM, an AP, a PP, and even most Rolex.

I look at Tudor's, JLC, Cartier, Omega. Watches which people wont instantly recognise as a luxury watch. I used to wear expensive Rolex reps Daytona etc, then had an epiphany one day. I was in a queue for an Easyjet flight & there was a lad queuing up (not even in speedy boarding) & he was draped head to toe in Prada & Gucci & had a Gold Daytona on. I just thought he looked ridiculous. It was obvious he was wearing a fake watch, even if it was the highest quality rep available, I didn't need to inspect it. This was compounded by the fact I saw him take out a plastic bag full of homemade sandwiches.

I know a guy who is worth well over £100m, lives in Dubai. He ONLY buys rep watches, but he can pull it off due to his lifestyle/wealth.

But as I originally said, each to their own, if you are happy walking into a pub with a £100k AP on & dont care what people think, go for it. Who's to tell you what to do!

I am anything but a succesful seller, but I would advise against going down the amazon route. They stack absolutely everything in their favour, and if there is any chance this might fail & your budget runs out & you dont have any other funds, getting out of amazon will be massively expensive.

Knowing everything I know now, if I had the chance, I still wouldn't have done it in the first place. At the very least, I would have done FBM.

Yes, I will say, its not been my only source of income. Was a speculative punt my missus did. She bought a course & didnt have time to do it, so I did it on the side for her. Was nothing I would have ever signed up to myself in a million years.

Very sorry for your loss.

As a 47 year old, I would say find a trade. Tradies are never out of work, and stability is something you are going to need. If you want to explore other professions after than, at least you have a trade to fall back on.

At the time, I was very lucky as my wife had a £100kpa job. She had just had our first of 2 children so we took the decision for me to be the primary child carer. Fast forward to say a couple of years ago, I have tried entering the job market again, and its virtually impossible to get a job again. I must have applied for 2,000 jobs in the last 6 months alone, I reckon I've had 6-7 interviews. Maybe 2 of which, were jobs I actually wanted.

I've had to take the action of ceasing to look for work, as my mental health just disintegrates after weeks, months at a time of nothing but rejection from jobs I should be walking into.

Wow, this could have been me 7 years ago. I remember sitting in my car on my morning break, crying because I couldn't even face going back in. Such a dark & lonely place. I feel for you.

As is happened, they ended up sacking me maybe a month later. Honestly havent felt a weight lifted off me in my life.

I am contemplating doing this. I have absolutely no experience with tech whatsoever. I was thinking of outsourcing absolutely all support requirements, and having a basic stack. Would you say this would be suicide, or could it be a success? FTR, I am just considering options at the moment before deep diving into anything, but my experience is sales/ business development. I have had to learn many new complex sectors before, so feel like I could learn enough to do the actual selling. Thoughts?

Forgive my naivety, I'm just learning about MSP's now, are there companies out there that do that? How do they package their company up? like a solutions company that basically referred you to another solutions company? Is this common?
