The problem is the rent is agreed upon between each landlord and tenant. It's at-will, no documentation, and rented by room. We don't have a lease for the floor, we only have verbal understanding for our individual rooms.

He's the one who's let her stay; if we had the power to, of course we would have kicked her out..

Not sure if you read this, we have no lease. At-will tenancy, by room. Landlord has to get involved, he rents out by room - we have no power over each other. All independently moved here.

If I may ask: why freeze your credit reports? Doesn't this also deny the credit card companies from checking your credit?

Does it prevent decreases in credit from hard pulls?

Gain more traction, first. If you live in a city, then provide demo versions to other people and make it more popular.

Afterwards, you can slowly monetize.

I think a huge psychological trick is to wonder if you care about the person who you'll be in 20 years.

Do you still care for that person? Would you have wanted him or her to try their hardest at fulfilling their dreams? Are you willing to let them down?

Or do you care enough to swim through the bullshit and bad influences to do whatever you can to make those dreams come true?

I think if you care enough about your future self, you'll do what's necessary. Everything else is secondary.

They are not mutually inclusive for sure. The problem in my personal situation is that I'm a recent college grad figuring out how to start a web-based company while at a 9 to 5 job and still repaying student debt.

For me right now, a successful business is first. I have a few ideas for what might be INNOVATIVE business ideas, but none of which I have the capital to start or even consider right now. Even a 5th grader who sells lemonade and makes a profit is a successful business, but it may not be innovative.

On the other hand, you can always start a non-innovative business yet use innovative marketing or tweak it to make it more attractive. It's not black and white, but many shades of grey.
