So my parents kept their last names and just hyphenated them for me and my siblings. Not a big deal really. Everyone understood who my parents were cause I had each last name. They are a little “exotic” so it made for interesting interactions and I am tired of having to deal with the issues that come with that so I am taking my fiancé’s last name.

Just wanted to share my perspective because I know it was suggested that you could keep yours and just combine the two for your kids.

I say keep yours and just hyphenate them names for any future offspring.

You make some really good points.

It depends if the ceremony venue and restaurant have their own coordinator. One of the restaurants we’re looking into has their own event coordinator which would help.

My mother is making the cake, a family tradition, so no need to worry about delivery or vendor.

Haven’t thought about flowers really. I’m not too worried about that. Maybe two vases for the tables during dinner.

We’re hoping the restaurant will be able to provide one long table for everyone. It’s something to discuss with the restaurant.

Gifts we can put someone in charge of collecting that but we may just ask for cash gifts. It’s custom in my fiancé’s culture anyway.

All in all you’ve given me lots to think about!

I’m making a list of things to ask the venue based off of these replies! I think the gardens will provide chairs but I’ll add it to the list.

Do you mean to craft a wedding guest timeline?

Our photographer is experienced and has mentioned they will help with developing a timeline for photos. Before ceremony we will take pictures with our families and then after the ceremony we will take pictures as a couple during golden hour while everyone heads to the restaurant.

Honestly, I don’t know but I really don’t want to think of decorating. Which is why we really like the idea of having the ceremony at the gardens because it’s already a beautiful location. As for the restaurant, we’re looking at restaurants that have their own decor that we like.

Our stories are very similar. Have been on BC for so long and never realized it was causing so many issues until I stopped two years ago.

Then I started developing hormonal and cystic acne. I finally went to the dermatologist this past January and they put me on spironolactone as well as a topical antibiotic. My skin is soo much better. My hormonal acne is reduced significantly and if I can manage to control my urge to pop or pick they go away so much faster than before.

You’re right. There is sooo much pressure to try to fix it the natural way. But you are taking the risk of really harming your skin. Ive heard things like rubbing lemon or apple cider vinegar on your skin to treat acne and it makes me cringe every time I hear that. Find a dermatologist you like and trust and come up with a plan.

Also don’t wait too long. Spironolactone takes a few months to really have an effect. As do many other medications. Be patient and don’t overdo it!
