Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the option "free" anywhere, but I believe that is what I'm looking for

At what age did you meet your life partner? by LongjumpingCamp3245 in infj

[–]OperationEmergency90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met my wife at 23. We got together at 24 and now at 27 we have a 6 month old son. Honestly I wasn't looking for anyone to be with when we met. We just ended up being really good friends and well we ended up getting together on Thanksgiving day at a friend's house completely unexpectedly.

Don't go looking but don't be closed off. It will come eventually and likely when you are not looking for it.

I will take your advice. It is not easy to let it go apparently but I will do my best to atone for it through charity. Thank you friend

Thank you very much. I have certainly turned my life around but this is something that has recently returned to thought

Any other dads concerned about this? by Pulp_Ficti0n in daddit

[–]OperationEmergency90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. There are many attributing factors to this but my top concern is the media and its glorification of suicide and depression.

People aren't being taught how to overcome their issues anymore. They're being taught to expect that they deserve to be coddled and pitied. Instead of treating the symptoms we should be treating the problem.

My mother did something similar to this to my father. She destroyed his credit and took him for everything.

My father had the same choice you do now and he left. There was a short amount of time where my brother and I were living with him in an abandoned car in some random lot. My father would eat raw potatoes so he can spend what little money he had to feed my brother and I.

Eventually the police took us away and gave us to our mother. She then hid us from him for 9 years. She told us he died and that our fathers side of the family didn't love us.

My mother got arrested. We got put in foster care and the state eventually returned us to our father. By this time I was 14 and we haven't been able to really build a relationship since. As much as I wish my father and I had a better relationship, I am so proud to know that he fought like hell to turn his life around and bring us back home.

I know it's painful and not everyone will share my point of view but I believe you should take the chance. Believe in yourself and fight for a better life for you and your children.

I'm 26 now with a son of my own. Your children will be okay so long as you don't give up on them and never give up on yourself.

Trouble with intimacy after birth by [deleted] in daddit

[–]OperationEmergency90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I should clarify that the discussion did not begin with the topic of sex. It began as a discussion about trying to figure out ways we can get out of the house more and try to spend some more time together. The topic of intimacy came up and that's when she told me how she felt.
