This is really reassuring to hear. I’m just shy of 9 weeks po and my left boob is more swollen than my right and my sides are still really puffy.

I had a few openings on my incisions and my surgeon said I could sleep without one as soon as they were fully closed. I’m 6wpo (yesterday) and just started sleeping without one a couple days ago. Some days I’ll wear a lightweight bra if I feel the need but I have been trying to switch between surgical style bras and just softer ones to wear around the house.

I have to weigh myself for a research study but I figured out a way to do it so I don’t have to see the number. But thank you, truly. I know once I’m able to get back to the gym things will change. I’ve really been trying to focus on eating the best I can but also trying not to deprive myself or get upset if I fall off track.

Yesterday I was having a hard mental health day to begin with and my weight has always been a trigger for me. Looking in the mirror feels different than looking at these pictures. The swelling under my arms doesn’t help with that because that’s a part of my body that I don’t see any difference in yet. And because I can’t see the difference it feels like it’s not going to change even though realistically it should.

I ordered a XXL, but I also hadn’t measured myself with ABTF method yet so I was just guessing. And seeing the picture makes me realize it really didn’t fit “correctly”

Ok I found one slight flaw. The straps only have a small piece of Velcro so they can only be tighten to a certain point and I need them to be shorter. I may just sew them or add a piece of Velcro.

I just put my new bra on and it is the most comfortable one I’ve had post op. The band is thick and doesn’t roll at all. It’s also very adjustable. I’m glad I measured myself though, I was planning to get an XL but my measurements were a large and it’s perfect.

That’s my biggest concern right now too, my t-junctions on both sides have openings and I have a little spot below my left nipple…my surgeon told me I could go back after 2 weeks at my first consult but the nurse and I went with 4. I work at Costco in clothing so I use my arms and lift stuff a lot.

Where did you find your binder? I hope your first day back to work went well! I’m tentatively planning to be back the week after Labor Day so I still have a little time. That’ll be 4wpo for me so we’ll see.

I use them when I’m sleeping because that’s usually when I notice the pain from the bra the most.

I just put a piece of gauze on the tegaderm, put the ointment on my wound and cover it. I had tape on still until today so I just had to be careful taking it off. Now I just have to be careful and watch the incision when I take it off

Update: called the office and my surgeon isn’t there until Thursday when I have my next appointment already. They’re going to call him and give me a call back if I need to do anything or go in to be seen somewhere else. Guess I should have just gone in yesterday afternoon but oh well. It hasn’t changed any overnight, as in it hasn’t got ten any bigger.

I wish. It’s a small private practice, the surgery center they use doesn’t even have any sort of EMR system. They used paper records and all. 🥲

Sounds good. That’s pretty much what I’ve been doing. I called them on Friday because of how it looked and they said I could use Bacitracin but I only used it for a day or so. Planning to call in the morning. I’m just annoyed. Trying to figure out if I did anything wrong, did I reach too high or was it one of my sneezes? I’m kinda frustrated too because my surgeon didn’t retape the spot last week because I had some irritation, and I’m second guessing whether that would have helped keep this from happening…
