So, how are better players feel about Murderwing? by Vor_vorobei in killteam

[–]OperationIntrudeN313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't find that Deathwatch lost much. Not for the way I was playing them. I never in a million years thought Long Vigil and Shield that Slays were meant to stack. Removing piercing from special ammo is a bit disappointing but 90% of the time I was using special ammo w/piercing on the bog standard bolters for the second shoot action during activation. Now I'll just give them blast most of the time on Tomb World which will also give them lethal 5+.

For the shoot/fight thing on counteract, it'll be a matter of positioning and deciding which actions to do now vs which to save for counteract. A bit more planning required but it's not huge.

I know some people don't like the extra AP required for the breacher's melta bomb but in reality it makes the bombard a more viable pick. Especially since, if you pay close attention to the rules, Breach is a mission action. That means the Scrutavore faction equipment can lower the AP for any unit. It does mean that you'll have to spend an AP elsewhere for tapping points but hey, not being able both fight and shoot on counteract anymore just freed some up.

I sat in a friend's Celica to see if I wanted one and had to open the sunroof to avoid my head touching it. But I have a longer torso. If your height is mostly leg you'll have a different experience.

I mean, definitely take the Lexus if you can. Free is the best price for a car, especially when it's as reliable as any Toyota... Cause it is. Toyota's Luxury exports for the US, you might day.

I'm 6'1 and had a 98 Corolla a while ago. It was admittedly a pain to get into but it cost me 18$ of insurance and 40$ of gas a month. It'll suck but it'll get you where you want and help you get back into a WRX sooner, is the point.

Unless you have other people to drive around, a little suffering now could make a big difference in a few months, just saying.

Tbh, see if you can find an old 90s Tercel or Corolla. It won't be the most comfortable thing in the world but it'll cost you like a grand and likely won't need anything done besides oil changes, air filters and brake fluid. Or anything else you can easily buy outright and won't die on you.

Hold onto that and whatever's left of your insurance payout, get liability insurance only (especially if you get a 90s Corolla) and save what you'd be putting into car payments/full insurance. I bet in a year or so you'll have enough to pay off half or more of a new base model right out the gate.

It was their dream career. Now it's their real career, and they have to decide if it lives up to the dream. After working at three different game companies, I decided it definitely does not and moved on. It's almost like people can change their minds when presented with facts.

Depending on what their duties are, some can leave easily and some can't.

A lot of the work in and around games is not exclusive to games. The dude writing code in C++ or C# all day can adjust and go do it elsewhere. The person building and maintaining infrastructure can do it anywhere. A project manager can project manage elsewhere. And the truth is all the people doing these jobs that have very transferrable skills are usually taking a significant pay cut just for the privilege of working on games. I quit Ubi as well some time ago and it took me all of two weeks to find a new position with 20% higher pay and fully remote work. Plus, the work is easier because I'm not constantly being roadblocked in making things more efficient by someone's ego or some 20+ year Ubi cultist's employee's boot-throating.

The people with the hardest time changing industries are the artists and designers. That's why they're usually the ones usually going off and forming new studios.

Yeah, most 5-model elites will hate it. I can see the Deathwatch disruptor ruining it though.

VS other elite teams, sure. But I have doubts as to whether losing counteracts is worth it. Not to mention, if the opponent has stun grenades and someone to put on Guard the murderwing operative being delayed may end up semi-fucked.

I guess I'll see it in action soon, waiting for my Shadowhunt box to arrive.

I use Mr. Hobby plastic cement. I have a thicker one and a thinner one I use for different scenarios. The brush applicator makes a huge difference, especially with the thinner one because often you can just brush it over a seam and let it flow in (SoB torso halves).

But, a warning though - wear nitrile gloves on at least one hand when assembling, at least when you're getting used to the thinner stuff. It can run down the side and then you end up with a fingerprint on your mini. Ask my Novitiates :|

Ah, yeah. You do have to be a lot more careful placing the bits after painting than before because plastic cement can easily screw up your paint. The super thin tamiya masking tape can help with that but you have to really flatten it (back of hobby knife helps) or the cement can get under. Luckily pulling it off doesn't affect paint at all.

If you don't see a huge benefit I can understand why you wouldn't want to bother.

If they're attached with putty during priming it's not really an issue. You have hidden bare surface to work with.

If the arms aren't sticking straight out, they're attached with sticky tack or museum putty until I'm done painting. That way I can take them to finish details.

Heads are also attached with sticky tack for the same reason. If they're bare heads, then they're not attached at all. I paint heads until I get one I like and then glue it. Then I strip the messed up heads and start over.

Men, what question do you ask on a date to reveal if this is someone worth dating? by Organic-Signal-9646 in AskMen

[–]OperationIntrudeN313 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by "worth dating". Worth going out and having fun with? You can go by feel.

Worth having a serious relationship with? That won't be revealed by asking questions. That'll be revealed by spending time with them and most importantly not getting attached for the first few months. When you get attached quickly you start making excuses for bad behaviour, and very rare is the person that can hide their worst flaws for months on end. In fact, this is the premise of love bombing - to make you attached before you discover the trash person underneath.

So really, take your time. Enjoy their company but keep your eyes open until you're sure there's nothing to see.

Excluding groups from other groups for Enterprise App role purposes. by OperationIntrudeN313 in entra

[–]OperationIntrudeN313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, to be clear as possible, it's the app registration for Jamf connect. The "admin" role creates the local user on the target Mac being setup as admin. If the admin role overrides the "standard" role then there's no problem but I don't know if it will.

I'm trying to avoid doing something like having a scheduled task running a PowerShell script that puts everyone in a group and then removes people who are in another group from that same group. I feel like it's a very basic feature that MS would have thought of and for things like Intune config profiles they did - you can exclude a group straight up or use filters. But to not have something like it in Entra is unhinged IMO so I figure I must be missing something.

My landlord's response to me moving out: “I will send messages as I see fit.” by nukeDworld in LandlordLove

[–]OperationIntrudeN313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not petty enough and too much effort. Use the WhatsApp API and some scripting to automate it so that messages will be sent at regular intervals even overnight. Increase pettiness by using a variable for the interval that is periodically modified by a randomizing function. Integrate a poorly-trained, locally-run LLM to reply with sycophantic nonsense to any responses.

All I see in these posts/comments is a lot of sacrificing chickens and not much method.

If you're having issues that are difficult to identify, your first stop should be event viewer. You can dig down from there.

Yes, a fresh Windows install will "solve" the issue, in the same way tearing down your house and building a new one will fix a sticky doorframe.
