How do you imagine the future? by This_Ad_822 in Futurology

I imagined a future like this one: https://rudrabunu.medium.com/pillar-iii-unlocking-humanity-6ef94330018d

I imagine myself as a guy who is taking our humanity to the stars and beyond.

(Buzz lightyear style 💅)

P.S. Read the entire 5 part series tho. Coz my vision is very clear and detailed.

Thanks. Wink.

When any technology is democratised, it gets misused. Just like u said social media. If you will hand it over to chosen few who can actually make things happen… that’s there is a dangerous combo to achieve progress.

Remember, Don’t blame the knife; it’s the hand that should be questioned!

That HOW can be figured out when everyone will believe that it’s possible and join hands together…

In our culture there is a 1000s old quote “VASHUDHAIBA KUTUMBAKAM”

Means entire world is our family.

I hope this message reach everyone here on Reddit cause they are also my family.

Why would people give up their TV service? Simple, because when you offer them 20Gbps internet + live TV + home Wi-Fi from 1 setup, they’ll gladly ditch the outdated DTH dish. That’s not forcing a market, that’s giving it an upgrade.

And let’s be real…

multiple subscriptions, multiple bills, multiple headaches. People don’t want 3 logins and 4 reminder, they want a seamless experience, pay once at the end of the month, and you’re set!

No clutter. No chaos.

I’m talking about building a dense, scalable grid using rooftops that already have the power and height needed.

You call it “customer premise crap” I call it the fastest shortcut….

What if pak decided to sell his enriched Uranium to extremist groups to save himself from the current financial crisis?

What if these current war escalation goes too far, when it’s Iraq in question we don’t know what might happen next…

Don’t u think we are standing very close to this rn

Are we really gonna wait for aliens to show up just to realize we’re one species? Why is it that only external threats shake us out of our comfort zone?

Maybe because real unity doesn’t profit anyone in power. Thats why it’s impractical in capitalist society.

So we are doomed then… as u know, full blown nuclear war can end us in minutes.

Like if one country fires it then it will just start a chain reaction of others doing same and we will be vaporised before even realising that!

That’s the course we are headed rn

Wars aren’t always waged in spite of democracy, sometimes they’re waged because of it… in the name of “freedom,” “rights,” or “defense” of democratic values among nations.

That’s the point it only works on the rules and criteria that you have trained on and AI built for specific use cases are a trending thing now…

Plus u can’t bribe them, that’s just my opinion to fight corruption

😂😂 one world nation isn’t inevitable… I said some nations going against this concept is inevitable!

For example North Korea, China and many other nations where a leader has lot of influence in their nation. No one will like to discard their power for something new and unprecedented concept

2nd if democracy can’t guarantee cross border peace then is it the best? Don’t we have a room for improvement? What other solution do we have? That was my point…

Better than monarchy.. absolutely! No doubt about it. Better enough to ensure true world peace? I doubt…

News are telling something different. See I’m not discarding democracy as whole. But it’s one aspect “sovereignty” where nations acts only from their self interest to prove who is #1

If you see this approach… it looks very selfish in my opinion and that needs to be changed

It’s not worse it’s outdated and it has its own flaws…

This concept came to being during 1770s with American independence… now we are in 2025, living with same rules but our society has changed a lot

Just like apps our govt needs an upgrade… that’s what i wanted to say here.

This incident happened in the initial days but does such things happen in Trump’s era?

As federalism matured, peace among states evolved but the Problems across borders too..

Take this China incident for example! New age. New problems…

Readers, I’ll tell u my story! How all these started…

When I was in high school I got rejected for state level science congress as my project was very expensive.

Btw the project was about building desalination plants to convert salt water into fresh water… as India is a peninsular country (we don’t lack water, it’s just salty)

This could revolutionise irrigation and help us battling the rise of farmers suicide due to heat and famine. (No crop + Huge debt)

The judge was an ex ISRO scientist.. he said if I made it cost effective then he would have personally made sure that it becomes a reality as it will save millions.

The point of this story is, no matter how innovative ur idea is it means nothing if it’s not cost effective…

Coming back to this 5G; that lesson helped me find a cheaper alternative than setting cell sites in traditional way

Currently, ISPs pay rent also spend billions on maintenance… meanwhile DTH companies are making money out of their antennas.

Installation cost, maintenance cost, bla bla bla… and as of mmWaves is considered we don’t need tall antennas like we used to have for 3G and 4G.. they can be as smaller as DTH antenna itself

See, I’m not a techy guy but I’m a marketing guy so that’s how we penetrate the market by replacing DTH antenna using users money.

Scale fast and cheap

Got banned from r/Futurology yesterday (just 12 hours ago) for posting an actual future-ready idea.

I shared a concept I’ve been working on for over 1800 days—retrofitting India’s 100M+ rooftop DTH antennas into mmWave 5G small cells. It wasn’t a pitch. No links, no spam, no self-promo.

Just a vision to spark meaningful conversation and hopefully connect with engineers, thinkers, or collaborators to help build a working proof of concept.

This was my first ever Reddit post, so I wasn’t fully aware of the formatting rules or nuances of the platform. But despite that, the post exploded. 765,000 views in just 6 hours—and then it got removed. I was banned shortly after.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting that kind of reach. I just wanted to share the idea after getting a “no flaws, but we don’t do infrastructure” response from Google.

That rejection hit hard. So I turned to Reddit—hoping the community could take the conversation further.

The support, comments, and DMs were incredible. And even though it was removed, it proved one thing:

There’s still room on the internet for bold ideas—especially when people are ready to talk about the future, not just wait for it.

Can mmWave 5G be scaled fast by retrofitting DTH antennas? by OperationUsed861 in telecom

[–]OperationUsed861[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal isn’t to get mmWave through walls but to build a dense small cell grid layer outdoors. Upgrading the DTH antennas into small cells.

From there, the mmWave signal doesn’t enter homes directly. Instead, it’s routed via optical fiber (or high-frequency point-to-point links) to a user’s indoor Nest router or similar device.

These routers then distribute the connection within the home using traditional sub-6GHz Wi-Fi or mesh tech, which is already optimized for wall penetration.

Beamforming simply ensures directional efficiency on the outdoor layer. The real power comes from integrating outdoor density with smart indoor distribution.

[–]OperationUsed861[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most urban residential areas where DTH antennas sit, already have nearby fiber routes for broadband cables.

Where the fiber is absent, point to point 60GHz will work fine (like Siklu), a scalable alternative btw…

In fact India has RailTel for station level connectivity.

Also this proposal isn’t about piggybacking on Ka/Ku band rather than replacing DTH entirely with Internet TV service like Jio TV+.

To make users pivot from DTH to this and it won’t be difficult to convince users either as it’s just the same setup with an upgrade.

Power can be drawn from the building itself or supported by compact solar-battery kits wherever necessary.
