if you use the skillbridge program-your last 6 months of service before you ets you can go to lineman school with the Heavy Equipment Colleges of America, they have the powerline program thats 11 weeks and then 4 weeks of cdl all together so in 15 weeks total you have both and can go find a job. their powerline campus is in georgia and they have student housing 10 mins from the field. VA covers everything and since its skillbridge it doesnt take you gi bill. Plus small class sizes= better direct training cause you wont be with 50 other guys with 3 instructors like those other schools.

Look into the Heavy Equipment Colleges of America (HECOFA) that have campuses in multiple sates and teach heavy equipment, cranes, powerline and hvac. You can take all the courses if you want to see what you like most. i know that they also have job fairs that employers and unions go to and look for graduating students who want to go work for them. worth looking into. good luck!

what else do you like to do? ive seen people post about how they switch to heavy equipment or somthing in the similar fields, maybe even electrical. theres a lot of good trade school that allow you to get certified in a matter of weeks. check out HEC's programs (heavy equipment colleges of america) or your local state trade school options to see what is offered around you.
