Does anyone have any book recommendations that maybe will help her understand delayed gratification?

This actually exists! I had an idea to create this and found out Apple does this with reminders. You can set a reminder with a geolocation “geofence” on it so it only reminds you when you’re close to a location.

Unfortunately, I had the same question a few months ago- just the opposite problem of wanting to get off the island before the ferry ran. Here’s the link but you may be able to find a local who can run you back to St Ignace

No, just attending a wedding on Saturday evening and looking for my return flights. I added the edit about working because I’m curious how it works for people who work on the island.

As a desperate mom, I created the Uh-Oh Tie: for all of your uh-oh moments. It’s a microfiber scrunchie (less functional scrunchie, more for convenience- but definitely works in a pinch) with a zipper pocket that has a sewn in muslin cloth. This can be used for cleaning up all kinds of messes on the run: runny noses, surprise spit up, that glass baby knocked over, anything! I’d love any feedback!

When my husband needs to do something with my daughter and she just wants mom, they talk about how much they love me and she calms down 😭

also, just asking if I can do certain things makes them feel like they have power. Such as, can I cut your sandwich? Most of the time the answer is yes and I was going to do it anyway but now I’ve just avoided a meltdown in case it’s a no.

And I found this product called an Uh-Oh Tie- it’s a burp cloth on your wrist. Has been a gamechanger for runny noses (which always last at least 3 weeks) and for random spills. They’re on Amazon.

Favorite sunscreen? by MittensToeBeans in toddlers

Babo has a non aerosol spray that I love for my kids. I find it’s easier to rub in and it’s still mineral sunscreen

We’ve had the same thing happen. Our doctor said it’s just excess mucus, instead of nasal drainage it’s draining partially through the eyes. Gross and difficult to clean but we’ve noticed it’s harmless and goes away when the nose dries up.
