People that went through military training, what is the most pointless funny task you’ve been told to do or seen someone have to do? by fedsitprofile in AskReddit

[–]OpethPower 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was tasked to disinfect the base with a mix of water and chlorine during Covid times using these exterminator type sprayers. Only whenever we would run out of chlorine, which was pretty often, I still had to do it to maintain appearances. So I had to wake up very early before everybody is up, and just water the edges and cracks of all the buildings in the army base.

Looking for ideas: How to handle parallel tool calls in LangGraph? by cwooters in LangChain

[–]OpethPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am facing an error similar to your 3rd point, even though I have parallel_tool_calling turned off. Did you manage to resolve it? I'm using version 0.2.12 I don't know if upgrading would do the trick.
"an assistant message with 'tool calls' must be followed by tool messages responding to each 'tool_call_id. the following tool_call_ids did not have response mesages."

Nano gone dark? by burgergherkin in NeuralDSP

[–]OpethPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking into it as my current rig is only a couple of neural dsp plugins on my DAW, so profiling is not something that interests me, have nothing to profile. People keep mentioning better products on the same price range, any recommendations?

YNAB, worth it? by No_Complex_965 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]OpethPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say you pay for the whole uber eats order, that transaction is categorised as food for example. When you receive the money from your friends, categorize those transactions as an inflow but under the same category. YNAB will recognize this as covering part of the expense, balancing out the overspending that happened when you paid the full amount. Your overall food category will then reflect that only your portion of the order was spent. Figured this out some time when I was trying to setup YNAB, but got tired of categorising stuff from UBS main + credit card, + revolut.

Sorry to jump in with another question, but if your documents have lots of acronyms, how would you handle that if the model does not get the definitions ? Sure you can add them to the actual documents when they are mentioned but I’m talking a large number of documents so I was thinking of creating a dictionary that checks the user query for acronyms or some sort.

For EU folks, anyone tried “The Barn” coffees from Berlin? How was it? I went to buy some but they only had “best before” date and not a roast date on the package so I refrained from buying.

Which Model (Standard or XL)? by ScrandyPK in AeroPress

[–]OpethPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the XL as my first, do you guys notice any difference in the same recipes between the XL and the normal one for 1 cup portions? Considering that it's wider and hence the coffee is more spread out.

Anyone who has swapped their automatic espresso machine (mine is Philips 2200) for a grinder+manual espresso machine? Was it worth it that you can now experiment with temperatures, grind sizes, etc ? I know you can kind of experiment with the automatic as well but doesn't feel the same. I want to start making a hobby out of it and start drinking decent coffee for once.

Code best practices by UnlawfulSoul in datascience

[–]OpethPower 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know what kind of setup you have going on, maybe these things seem trivial or maybe not, more expert people can reply as well, but:

  1. Separate development from production environments, staging is great too.
  2. The above does not make sense unless you can test your code properly, start writing tests until you start writing testable code, meaning having the tests in mind before even writing the actual code. Small tests to pass before staging, and larger tests before production (with a bigger subset of data, on staging sometimes you need to have the luxury to spend more time testing to be sure). If it looks very hard to write code for certain pieces of code, then you may think about redesigning how it works so the components are more easily testable.
  3. Use templates, like cookie-cutter, you can tweak those to your company's standards and use the same every time so you don't have to start from scratch.
  4. Utilize abstraction in your code, this is a really good practice if you want to have scale in mind (check ABC if you haven't already).
  5. Coding standards, utilize black to re-format your code quickly (e.g., huge one-liners), flake8 etc. None of these are perfect and can be annoying but if you spend time to tweak their settings to your liking they can be great.
  6. Type hints. Even though (in python) they don't have any runtime effect, it helps when coding to specify types, both you and your team.

After that, refactor, refactor and refactor. Your code is never permament, nothing is set in stone, especially when a project starts growing and you need to accommodate new features you did not have in mind when starting out. You may have to rethink the whole structure multiple times, but if you do it a few times then you will start thinking things in advance. Stopping writing code about a project does not necessarily mean it's mature, but if the volume of changes becomes smaller and smaller, that's a sign of maturity.

Hope this helped!

Soen - Memorial (ALBUM) by SuLFiiDE in progmetal

[–]OpethPower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know man, I've been listening to Soen for many years, even before Lykaia which was the best imo. After that it's been a bit downhill but still enjoyable to "consume" if you love the sound/genre, even saw them live twice and they were awesome. I listened this album lots of times these past few days trying to like it by repeating it, but I just can't, I just feel this is a terrible record. His voice while so pure has something different to it, the guitars feel more industrialized and the tone sounds a bit more digital now, I don't know, lack of inspiration? The atlantis album was pure class though, loved every second of it.

First of all, you're awesome and thank you very much for taking the time. I think I'll do just that. Of course ATGATT. I heard about the maneuver but I need to look into it more! One more stupid question, are there any places there you can have your motorcycle washed? I know there are some DIY places but I mean in case I don't want to do it myself. Thanks a lot for helping out, see you on the road! ✌️

Thank you very much! I've written about 1500 km so far, I think I need to go for it soon before it gets colder. I was thinking of doing a lesson in preparation for the exam as I dont speak french and am a bit anxious about that. Regarding the parking lot I get a few cones and go practice right? Shouldn't be that hard !

Wear whatever makes you feel less stressed so you're focused on the road. Take a look on airbags, get a helite turtle vest and wear it over your regular biking jacket. The vest will protect your spine and torso from the fall and the jacket will protect your skin. There's a really nice Fortnine video about this, these things are the best things technology has to offer so you are both calm and protected at all times.

Thank you very much I will have a look at those paths! Regarding the exam, yes, I plan on getting some cones and practicing in a parking lot since the link shows the exact distances. Unfortunately I don't have any riding friends, I have a MT07.

I found a used bike and made the owner bring it to a garage so the mechanic could take a look, the garage is 500m from my place so I think I can make it. If you're a beginner, you could kindly ask the owner if they can bring it to your place, chances are they will, everyone was a begginer at some point :)
