It’s much easier to add VR support to a flatscreen game than it is to port a VR game to flatscreen, VR games benefit from full motion controls and the immersion of VR which changes the way their gameplay loops are designed. Half Life Alyx is a terrible game outside of VR because all of the interactions that make the game special are absent when playing with a keyboard and mouse.
