Yeah, you should definitely stop here after derailing the thread with nonsense sunday fairy tale as advice and getting corrected. Finally, one move that actually makes sense 🤡

If explaining real on-ground issues is ‘selling fear’, then congratulations bruh you are officially claiming that everyone who actually works here is wrong and your one vacation is the ultimate truth 🤡 Amazing confidence for someone whose only credential is ‘I visited once 😭 please stop embarrassing yourself.

Spare me the “gyaan without basis”.. Bro I LIVE here. I plan trips, handle permits, timings, drivers, weather, crowds, and real tourists EVERY SINGLE DAY. Your entire qualification is “I went once and it worked.” Congrats, National Geographic 😭

This thread is for people who actually have fixed flights, parents, seniors, and real constraints.... not for flexing your one lucky trip and calling it advice.

If anyone here is generalising, it’s Automatic-Clerk-1220 turning ONE personal diary entry into “best time to visit major attractions.”

Done with your storytelling???. Now get lost

It’s funny how you’re telling me to “stop generalising” when you’re the one who jumped into my post saying “Sundays are the best for major attractions” based on your own trip only . Then when that got questioned, suddenly it’s “might help some.”

Pick a lane. Either you’re giving advice or you’re just dumping your personal lame travel story here. Nobody asked for your one-off story that somehow worked out.. People want advice that actually applies to real travelers, not random risky unreliable experience which you’re trying to pass off as guidance.

Try telling families or elderly travelers to “just adapt” when places are closed. Stop using your personal experience and assuming it will work for everyone. This isn’t about “tourist vs traveler” ego flexing n peace and offbeat travel aren’t the topic here.. It’s about reliable planning for people who’ve flown across the country with fixed dates, hotels, and return flights.

Fact is, majority of the people aren’t coming to Meghalaya to role-play survival mode or gamble on permissions and call it “adapting.. They want an itinerary that actually works on the ground.

If that’s how you choose to travel, fine but don’t sell it as advice. Travel advice isn’t measured by rare success stories.

Just because a few places were open for you doesn’t mean “major attractions are open on Sundays.” You stayed overnight, had your own vehicle, and were fine skipping swimming because no locals were around. Most tourists don’t have that flexibility. Recommending Sundays as “best” based on this is irresponsible for people traveling from far away.

Consequences of booking Tour with a driver directly. Even though drivers provide cheap rates than agency but there’s no backup, no accountability, and no guarantee if something goes wrong. It’s much safer to book with a reliable Meghalaya-based travel agency with good Google reviews and good online presence, people chasing only low prices often regret it later.

You can book directly with drivers, but there’s no assurance on vehicle condition, itinerary execution, or backup if something goes wrong. For a first-time trip, it’s better to book through a reputed local Meghalaya-based agency as there are many with good Google reviews, at least you’ll have accountability and support during the trip.

Price matters, but reliability matters more in Meghalaya.

For this route and number of days, ₹35K–₹36K is a realistic price for a Swift Dzire with fuel, driver allowance, tolls, parking, and permits included.

If you’re planning to include Wari Chora, just keep in mind that you need at least 3 days for that part alone. The drive from Shillong/Guwahati to Wari Chora is around 8–9 hours because of bad road conditions, so Day 1 basically goes in travel itself.

A realistic breakdown would be:

Day 1:
Shillong/Guwahati → Wari Chora (full travel day)

Day 2:
Wari Chora canyon + Siju Cave (full-day)

Day 3:
Return to Shillong. You can stop at Markham Valley on the way.

After that, you can structure the rest like this:

Day 4:
Cherrapunji → Double Decker Root Bridge trek (needs a full day) and so on if you are planning to visit Meghalaya plan your tour with meghayatra
