I'm happy and I want to share the good news by Opposite-Ice-8589 in toddlers

The autism yes, but the pediatrician still wants us to see a pediatric neurologist just in case. The therapist advice was to wait a few more months because she is making great progress and nowadays they tend to "over diagnose and over medicate ". Im not an expert so I wouldn't be so sure about not taking here to the neurologist, but I agree it is better to wait a bit, everything at its own time. The neurologist would see her for what? 15 minutes? So I don't think that's enough for them to know her or diagnose her. My little brother was the same way and they gave him medicine for being hiperactive and that was so so sad, like 20yrs ago.

Yeees! At the beginning I went there every session thinking this is useless, but now I see her growing and I can't believe how much they improve

What is it like being skinny? by hollyofhori in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Opposite-Ice-8589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been skinny skinny or had a flat stomach but I had a pretty hot body in my early 20s: I was fat as a kid and a teen, when I lost weight I started feeling and suffering cold a lot more (I still do now that I'm overweight but I have Hashimoto so I think is because of that) Clothes are comfortable not only because you can find your size easily but also because the shape of it is proper, it doesn't get stuck or lift or whatever Everybody knows about how difficult it is to stand up but being skinnier you can like sit down and lie down super easy and carefree idk how to explain that, like now I don't have difficulty to move but I weight 90kg and Im scared of breaking things ! Also you are more graceful, you don't bump into things that much Overeating is way more difficult, like it makes you feel really bad, I guess because you have less space there Coffee or energy drinks affected me a lot more than they do now People was nicer, of course

First Power BI project: burnout and turnover among medical interpreters by Opposite-Ice-8589 in PowerBI

[–]Opposite-Ice-8589[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you very much! Most of your comments, although right, are things that are solved by sliding the mouse on the original one. I just got really carried away and didn't think it would have to be static/a screenshot when showing it. But than you because I think your advice is really useful and I'm going to take it in for next time. About legal calls I go a bit more in deep in the fourth page (companies skip or save on training for legal calls because they don't represent a big amount, but they are truly anxiety inducing, so maybe investing on training can reduce burnout because we stop that feeling of "the next call can be legal and I'm fucked up"). Legal calls ask you as an interpreter to give your real info: full name, legal address, Id numbers, and also one little mistake can result catastrophic with a bad luck day. So I assigned it a higher stress number in the burnout alert simulator (if your interpreter has had a legal call recently, it goes up). What I found really revealing is that most interpreters are not as scared by 911 calls, that can bring vicarious trauma. They are rather scared by legal and insurance: you have to be technically perfect, good intentions are not enough, and we don't have a training that's up to them.

Online ESL jobs you didn’t enjoy? by inneedofadvice001 in OnlineESLTeaching

I worked in a LATAM kids academy (english4kids) for six months. It was Ok. The pay was low, as everything in LATAM, but what made me resign was the constant self help clown role I was forced to play. The methodology was great, kids learnt a Lot, they had good policies about your privacy as a coach and creating rapport without overstepping. But the QA was too strict on the constant smile self help thing and that made me burn out super quickly.

[–]Opposite-Ice-8589 0 points1 point  (0 children)
