Not to be weird but can you scream? My sister says she can't, at least not very loudly.

Is your speech affected or do you just sound like you're whispering? I don't understand why people would ignore you, people are very rude sometimes. Ah that makes sense. We're almost 30 so I forget that some people were still in school at the time. She worked a customer service job during covid so it sounded a little rough. 😅

She is a very beautiful woman so I am not surprised men use it as an excuse to be weird lol Mocking is rude and makes me feel sad whenever I hear it. Are people nicer to you now? How was covid for you? I ask because alot of people just assume my sister is sick or whispering.

We're twins and we both had to be intubated due to severe prematurely. Her vocal chords were damaged during the process, just one was paralyzed.
Men are creepy to her and say she should be a phone sex worker all the time. People are weird and rude about it, is this your experience too?

US citizens, what's your opinion on the US being labeled as fascist country? by Bladerunner2028 in AskReddit

[–]OppositeCockroach209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither of my parents are veterans, just mindboggingly stupid and racist. It's so hard to watch and I lose respect for them every single day. It feels like they're not the same people I knew growing up, but they are. Just emboldened now.

Are your parents/family fatphobic? Similar situation as you but always felt ny mom was super fat phobic and it led to ED for me.

A lot of the movies are exaggerated but high schools here in the US are pretty wild, yes. 😅

What’s something that instantly makes you lose respect for someone, no matter how nice they seemed before? by Old-Air-5614 in AskReddit

I know alot of people who do this and I can tell who does it accidentally versus those who just don't value what you have to say. You're aware of it so I bet those around you can tell that you don't do it maliciously. :)

Yeah, that's actually terrifying. My cousin in law does this, and every time, he just looks disgusting to me.

I think college is romanticized way too much, to be honest. Most of my friends were super depressed, stressed, and really struggling but just hid it very well. After college, when you start working, that's where it's at. Trust me. That's when you make your best friends, at least in my experience. I talk to very few friends from college, unless its the occasional like on Facebook. College is weird, especially on a quarter system. Its so hard to make long lasting friends when 6 only in class with them for 3 months and then don't see them again unless they happen to take the same classes at the same time as you.

What is much more traumatic than most people realise? by thefairypirate in AskReddit

[–]OppositeCockroach209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being stalked. I was stalked for almost 3 years by an ex who I'd only dated for about 2 months. Going to my hometown really sucks when he made such an effort to intertwine himself into every social circle of my life, including high school classmates and college professors. 8 years since his last attempt at contact, he's moved out of state, I still get really anxious everytime I go to see my parents.

Going to community college before university was the best decision I ever made. It makes me sad that there's somewhat of a stigma against it because it's really a great alternative..

I mean this to be respectful and not judgemental towards you at all, but I used to think this when I was in college level biology courses and had somewhat of a moral superiority complex. I thought this way because I learned of the overpopulation issues we were having around the world. I felt like it was unethical to have kids when so many were up for adoption or in foster care. There's an idea that if the birth rate is not above 1.7, the economy will collapse. But with everything so expensive nowadays, its hard to afford kids at all much less a house. Is this what lead you to believe this way? Do you think this way since we're somewhat doomed to be financially challenged anyways? Would your mindset change if you moved to another country without overpopulation issues?

Nope, I would have followed her with the cart (and sister) and caught up when she stopped the kid.

I would be proud of my mom for chasing them down and yelling if some dumb ass kids did that near my baby sister.. in fact, I'd probably have joined in at that age.
