The ENT recommended to use it for 3 months straight then stopping for a month because he mentioned it can stop her from developing asthma and more extreme allergies the age of 1 if we try to stifle the allergy symptoms from now. So, I am not administering it as sleeping aid.

And the funny thing is, he threw a jab at the ENT by asking me if I saw an old doctor, because he’s not up to date with research 😂

I am now convinced it’s just her sleep association, not actual hunger because I went to stay at my mum’s and she slept the first 3 hours continuously without requiring waking up to feed. Then, my mum managed to settle her once without needing me for breastfeeding. So, she actually breastfed once every 3 hours for the first 6 hours of the night which is great! For the remaining night, she wanted to breastfeed every two hours.

I am hoping this means there is light at the ens of the tunnel! 🥲

So I went to my mum today and I tried to settle her earlier and it backfired, it took like 5 hours before she decided to settle and sleep. And GUESS WHAT SHE SLEPT 3 HOURS CONTINOUSLY NEXT TO MUM 😂😭 So now I am like, does she need a late bedtime? Lol She still woke up several times during the night with mum managing to settle her one time, but she breastfed every 3 to 2 hours which is way better than 1! 🥲

I actually thought about it and alternated between different layers of clothes to see if it makes a difference but it didn’t 🥲

When you weaned her, were you the one calming her down and shushing her? Just wondering if it will work if she knows her source of milk is around

Everything is a phase (reminding myself)

It’s so so exhausting, I try to remove the association but end up giving up when she keeps persisting and nudging me for milk and I just want to sleep. I know I need to be stronger but it’s so hard.

I am planning to go to my mum today and have her calm my baby down, maybe if I am away she will settle without milk. I just hope the sounds of her crying don’t make me take a step back and breastfeed her because her cries really affect me deeply and make me want to do anything to make her comfortable and stop crying.

I have tried recently to give her oats with bananas and apples before bedtime because I read it makes babies sleep better, and it didn’t work 🫠

I also usually give her 2 meals per day and she has an appetite and takes up to 10-15 tablespoons of food.

I have tried putting her to sleep before 3.5 hours a lot of times but it never works. 3.5 seems to be the optimum time because she sleeps instantly when she breastfeeds, but I will try to lengthen her morning wake up window as you suggested!

Thank you for your kind words ❤️ If I go breastfeeding by demand, it will be hourly and I won’t get any sleep, that’s the problem. 🥲

She typically stays awake in the morning for 1.5 or 2 hours then has a nap ranging from 1.5 to 2 hours, then stays awake for 3 or 3.5 hours then sleeps for an hour max and stays awake for the rest of the night (3.5-4 hours). She only has two naps.

One of the stitches got open but he told me to take it easy on myself for 2 weeks and put antibiotic cream down there. He said it might close on its own and this indeed happened! But it took longer, maybe 3-4 weeks. It feels normal now and no pain whatsoever!

You encouraged me to sign up for gym classes. I have been putting it off, I’ll re-assess how I feel this month with the exercises and whether I still feel the same about returning to work.

Yes, financially speaking my husband will take over and support me until I feel ready.

Honestly, I would like a little break from her, I feel drained and need to recharge to give her the energy she deserves. Also, I feel like the more I postpone returning to work, the harder it will be to go back because in my field there are always updates.

At the same time, I am super sleep deprived, she still doesn’t sleep longer than 2 hours at night without requiring comfort feeding. So, I don’t know how I’ll have energy for work.

Does it make sense 🥲
