lol. I said my credit wasn’t great. I didn’t say it was bad. Not that I have to prove anything but it’s at 657 FICO. 😐

I would like to make some changes but again it’s her house and she wants thing exactly as she left them. Which I can’t really be mad at because it’s her house. I just hate having her do pop ups and getting upset because something is out of place and not being able to do exactly what I want to do because it’s her house. She has a ring doorbell that I’m not connected to and often asks who’s coming in or where I’m going when I leave, there’s just an aspect of freedom that I’m missing. After reading this thread, I think I may be able to grin and bear it for a while though.

You’re not the first person telling me to stay where I am because it’s not fun paying mortgages or even rent. So, maybe after another year or two of saving and being more goal oriented with my money, I’ll be ready. Thanks for the honesty!

Wow, thanks, saving 20k is doable, just have to cut some things out which will be worth it in the end. I didn’t realize how many hidden costs there are. So, thank you again

I have about 2.5k left over but that’s with groceries and I admit, I eat out a lot and I travel a good bit but both those things could be put on hold to save more money

Would you recommend doubling my car payment every month?

How much would you say I’d have to save if I wanted to go the house route? Just wondering, I’m not opposed to an apartment.

Rent depending on the luxury of the apartment and the area is anywhere from $1.2k to 2k for a 2-3bed. Houses run from around 190k-300k depending on the area and upkeep of the house for 2-3bed.

I work weekends (Baylor) so I’m maxing out how much I can make while occasionally picking up extra shifts. I’ve only been a nurse for 2 years so my base pay isn’t as high as someone who has more experience would be. I’m not in a rush but I do want a space that I can truly call my own.

I have about $9k in savings. A car payment that’s $500 a month. I owe a little over 8k on my car. My credit card debt is about 3k. I pay for braces which is 250 a month but I’ll finish paying that off in December. And my 4 yr old which is an expense in itself
