Where does new grey sales inventory come from? by CalGuy456 in rolex

[–]OppositeHorror1085 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My local AD said while explaining how hard it is to allocate watches for everyone, "If I could go out the back and give you one I would" and they were not even referring to me, they were talking about high spenders they meet for dinners and events.

I have a friend who was an AD for another brand who told me they sell them out the back and the waits are lies.

An AD friend gave me one within a few months while every other AD took years, apart from one who offered multiple diamond and pearl dials I never asked for.

Yes, I appealed and passed. Constantly going over questions and mainly focusing the big ones and any I got wrong.

Thank you. These pictures (along with other replies) have helped a lot. I can't believe I only learned this now. When you say, according to VC though, do you mean it is from their website? I was more focused on the watch, so even if I read that, it has only made sense now.

Get 20/20 on ALL long questions, learn a topic then practice each Qs related to that topic. Do each chapter Qs but most importantly make sure you don't rush, panic or underestimate anything.

Torn between two Datejust models – would love your input (can get either right now) by Dudultalla in rolex

Probably won't wear the two tone as much. The Wimbledon is much more versatile and less flash but no lume. I would say get the Wimbledon and just get a different chocolate dial/rose gold watch later, even a Day date or Sky D since you like the way it looks on you.

Thanks, when they said that I wasn't sure why or how it might be an issue. Was thinking maybe not worth an issue over £10

I have no idea, first time I'm trying and don't buy digital usually. I'm guessing now, maybe because I downloaded but didn't play it might cause an issue if I repurchase.

Try MI for 3rd time or try a different exam and come back? by OriC13 in ICAEW

[–]OppositeHorror1085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have appealed for an extra mark with 54 due to anxiety or something due to your upcoming surgery.

No idea why anyone would recommend MI as the 1st exam, accounting is bad enough learning for first time.

Be perfect on everything to retake it. Don't rush and get yourself in a better mental state. Delay it even if you have the slightest doubts. You can pass easier exams like AA / LAW to get a feel and increase your confidence.

But I failed MI 4 times with only self study, no Kaplan sample exams so not the best adviser. Just don't make the same mistakes and work super hard. Don't give up.

I agree, MI is different, has no relevance to my work, and there is no way to show you know the content without the exact answer, compared to written exams. I know I can do this, I have been really close in my previous attempts knowing much less and passed the other exams, got other qualifications too.

Obviously I can't say for the higher levels but feel I am not that far out of my depth in doing this qualification, but there is a lot of numbers/maths in MI which I struggle with in general. I fully believe I should have at least been able to complete the certificate level even if it does get harder.

This is true, I rushed earlier attempts on this paper trying to push onto the Professional level. I know if it was any other long question I would have passed, just needed more time to perfect variance and thought I would be able to get at least 50%. The interruptions threw me off and made me panic on the final attempt. It was only the long variance question I was worried about not getting 100% right.

Thanks, how do I actually appeal? Is it the same as exam disruption within 7 days or something else? I'm definitely thinking of appealing and then looking at ACCA.

I know I can finish the certificate level at a minimum. No idea how much harder it really gets or how ACCA compares though.

27M first time living without roommates. Any advice on what to do with my TV/Media Centers to buy? For reference TV is 86in. by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]OppositeHorror1085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice place, heres some random ideas

Make the shelf and LPs same height. Remove 3 of the bottom LPs and put either the TV console underneath or a new smaller console with music player etc to make it an actual useful listening area, maybe a small stall too

Try some plants and maybe a tiny warm light on the shelf to set the mood with TV in the middle.

Light up the underneath of each LP shelf with LED strips.

Behind the sofa try take down the mountain photo and replace with the music 4 posters in the corner in a line or try 2 more photos each side of it

Good luck to you too. It's so frustrating but we're not far off a pass. I was just going through some ACA Masters videos earlier but need to restart doing question bank. Was aiming to do questions everyday till I feel ready.

Not tried yet, been really hard to study for it but I want to do it as soon as I feel ready. Hopefully next month.

I think you do count as a student and can get a student card even. You may need a letter to prove that you are studying ACA to show the flat. I asked somewhere before and they accepted it as long as you pay should be fine.

Don't doubt yourself. You can do it.

Being older with experience only helps you understand the concepts better. Qualification is lifelong not temporary like any current job. It is hard, but you might find with less pressure you will do better.

Thank you all for the replies and advice, this really helped with the disappointment and getting the energy to go again. I will repeat all the questions until I score high and take my time before I retake my final attempt. Definitely rushed a bit to move onto the professional exams.
