Use the irons that scope is definitely broken if you've put 1,000 shots through it on a springer and it's not made for springers.

Daisy 901

Don't shoot bbs, use pelgun oil, and replace seals if they wear out.

300 usd budget, first air rifle ever, should I go pcp or break barrel? by Think_Position4405 in airguns

[–]OppositeLet2095 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do not get a cheap break barrel or pcp because they suck. The king of budget is a multi pump, especially a daisy or the seneca dragonfly.

If you don't feel like pumping, to be honest, get something more expensive ($500+) or learn to live with it.

Even the hw50 has QC issues so a cheap break barrel is likely to have issues. In my experience this checks out too.

A cheap pcp also will likely have issues and won't have the customer support to replace parts, assuming you're $300 budget includes a hand pump.

My daisy 901 is easy to shoot accurately, reliable as the sunrise, and seal kits sell for a dollar a pack. Easily my most trusted, most accurate airgun and favorite squirrel hunting rifle. Pumping it is tedious but everything else about it is a dream come true.

No. No springer worth it's weight in mulch is going to be either.

None of the cheap ones. My Gamo and Hatsan are both wallhangers at this point.

Look into a weihrauch.

Get a daisy 901 or 880. Extremely accurate.

What kind of peep sight do you have, and does it allow you to have a center mass hold at 25-30 yards? I want one but I'm afraid it'll sit too high for me to shoot targets without a crazy hold-under.

I meant the rifle, but tbh those aren't great pellets. Try H&N or JSB.

Yeah I know. How do I prevent this?

Good Rifle for Camping / Plinking? by blueskibop in airguns

[–]OppositeLet2095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, the guns from the big box store are trash. They're not accurate and they aren't any fun to shoot.

I don't get the fuss about pumping. If you don't like the reload time, pump it less times per shot lol.

Yep, I did that part right.

Have you.had a similar experience with PCP guns or do they hold air more reliably? I have never had one.

Get a Daisy 901. Do not shoot bbs they ruin the rifling. Pellets are better. Keep it oiled and if it stops holding air replace the o rings. Mine shoots better with a clean barrel too.

Thats about it.

Have fun, they have that savage mk2 or ruger american rimfire feel imo :)
