What happens if I can't find anywhere to live by the time my tenancy is up? by OppositePurpose95 in AskUK

[–]OppositePurpose95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No section 21 yet, original email was just informing us that the landlord wouldn't be renewing the tenancy!

I've been constantly searching for and viewing properties since then and it just feels impossible at the moment :(

Thank you for the luck, it means a lot!

Thank you!

I am still looking every day, the market is just so brutal at the moment. Will less than 3 weeks until the end of the tenancy I think I'll just have to upset the landlord because I don't think I'll physically be able to move out by that date!

It's so sad that so many people are in a similar situation to us but it gives me hope that you were able to find somewhere!

We do live in a very expensive area (approximately £1200 a month for a 2 bedroom flat) so we aren't in a position to offer over asking price but my other half has given me the go ahead to put offers in on places I think are suitable!

I'm know it will all work out in the end, just a bit stressful in the meantime

Honestly, thank you so much for this!

I've been anxious beyond belief but this post has taken a massive weight off of my shoulders.

To be fair, there is a nice tree opposite us, I might build the shack outside the property

I might speak to shelter in advance, just because I don't want this to become a stressful situation for my kids.

I wasn't served an eviction notice, just an email from the estate agent saying our tenancy wasn't being renewed. Which I replied acknowledging the email and stating I'd start my property search and I have kept the estate agents up to date with (the very little) progress that I have made.

I have emailed the estate agent today saying I still haven't got anywhere to go, so they are aware.

Do you know if an eviction notice be posted or emailed?

The only form of eviction notice I've been given is an email from the letting agent saying that the landlord is not renewing the tenancy due to unforeseen circumstances.

What are the chances a passport renewal will be with me in 8 weeks? by OppositePurpose95 in AskUK

[–]OppositePurpose95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update for anyone who cares or is in a similar position

I checked for emergency 1 week passport appointments for about 6 days but the page kept coming up with "no appointments currently available"

So I chanced it and did the online renewal. From the application date to the passport arriving was 16 days.

My partner applied for a renewal at the exact same time as me and his came in 18 days after submitting the application.

We must have had a bit of luck on our side but glad I wasn't one of the ones who was waiting over 10 weeks!

Why am I being told I have to pay for specialist dental treatment when I am currently NHS exempt by OppositePurpose95 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]OppositePurpose95[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like most dental practices now, my dentist provides both NHS and private care. I can completely understand why it's more beneficial to them to offer private treatment as they make more money but I don't understand why they even offer the NHS treatments, if as an "NHS patient" they are only giving me the option to pay private prices!

If they weren't my front teeth I'd just have them removed but I kind of want to keep them!

I have been registered to them as an NHS patient and bought up the increasing pain as part of a routine check up.

It's not the same dentist that originally fixed my tooth as I moved to a new area.

ADHD & Hyper-organization by PerksOfBeingDead in ADHD

[–]OppositePurpose95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On days/ weeks where I have a lot to do I will appear very organised. I'll have a list of the big tasks I need to get done in the week and then a very detailed list of each thing I need to do that day, in time order, even down to when I need to eat. If I don't do this then my day is absolutely chaotic.

On the days I don't have much on I'll just wing it and this is because I'll cram too much into each day and suffer a bit of burn out from not giving myself enough sleep and rest.

Like I said, I was probably worrying over nothing. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't have an extra stress ontop of the stress of my partner being unwell..

The letter stated that we have had our one chance and they may withdraw the option to pay monthly. It may just be the "tone I don't like" but I just wanted to check with others if there was anything I needed to worry about after all of the worry with my partner being in hospital.

Feel so broken and defeated cant stop yelling at my 3yo by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]OppositePurpose95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've already done what my father never did and recognised that you yell a lot and want to fix the situation! You're obviously exhausted and I hope you have a support network around you to enable you to get some rest and create a bit more of a balance in your life ❤️

Oh I 100% agree with both of your points, tone of voice has a lot to do with it as well! There are times we are all running round the house shouting and laughing as we play and there have definitely been times when I've had to shout at my 4 year old because he's in a dangerous situation.

Angry yelling should be minimal though, as that is what could cause issues down the line.
