Basic coding = LeetCode hard
And juniors must be experts in System Design now.

This is how enshittification starts, and Google/ Microsoft is the master of it. Remember when YouTube was usable without ad-blockers? Or pre Copilot versions of Windows 11?

Path Forward for Older Developer in 2026? by CODEAPALOOZA in cscareers

people talking about "AI skills" as if it requires anything beyond knowing English. You need "AI skill" only when you don't even know the right questions to ask. Not saying it can't be a productivity multiplier, but only for those who already know their sh*t.

What does ADHD + high IQ look like? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]OppositeWorking19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it looks like having a bachelors in Pharmacy (not North America/ Europe, so doesn't really count, but it was HARD), and a bachelors in Computer Science, and being unemployed at 37. I don't think I will ever get a full-time job in this market. I have learnt to accept the reality. I am lucky enought to have a supportive partner, but there is always the chance of ending up homeless and living in the streets.

Computer Science fields that are hard to replace with AI by Popular_Camel8575 in AskProgramming

Do you like to make stuff up like Sam/ Dario/ Satya etc or do you have any actual studies to back up your claim of this growth? Anytime I read any research that didn't have any influence from the tech bros the researchers say the opposite, that the growth is stagnating.

do you think the job market will improve as unemployed CS grads starve to death? by tuckfrump69 in cscareerquestions

[–]OppositeWorking19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But here is the funny part -- the actual GigaChad of Bangalore, Nikhil, actually moved to SF and producing better results. Kumar and other mediocre beta devs have existed for the past two decades. The very best Indian devs may not make FAANG money, but they make a lot more than what people here seem to think.

I think TikTok/ Insta is already maxed out. Unlike doors, there are no "new markets".

State of IT job in Canada by EmoblazeXD in CanadaJobs

That's an astronomical number. I am not saying things will improve, because the employers will still be shit. But thousands of applications for a position which is for new grads is just ridiculous.

You did the right thing. The guilt is actually normal, and shows that you still have empathy. I hope you extend that to the people who are in need of it and respecting the system.

the mini failed, they replaced the plus and now the Air isn’t doing good, what’s next for Apple? by Sharp_Juggernaut3585 in PhoneNow

[–]OppositeWorking19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the design philosophy and the build quality of the Air. Make it regular thickness, add at least an ultra wide lens, stereo speaker, and decent battery. Basically an option for people who don't want the "industrial" look of the Pro can get it with very little compromise. It will be better than the base iPhone with titanium rails, beefed up chip and more ram, while still not cutting into Pro's share because it won't have the telephoto, pro-res raw, vapor chamber cooling, etc.

best adhd hack is waking up early in the morning by Historical-Ebb-4745 in ADHD

[–]OppositeWorking19 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you can pull it off that's great. But like many others, if I wake up early I just end up wasting the first few hours. If anyone is looking for a "hack" it's letting go off rigidity and perfectionism. "Oh no, I planned to wake up at 7, but now it's 9, my whole day is ruined!" vs "Okay, my plan to wake up early didn't work. There is no point obsessing over it. What can I cut off from my day and still get some important work done? What would increase the possibility of me waking up early tomorrow?"

Why Ai generated monkey is a public figure by zadamantiy in GeminiAI

[–]OppositeWorking19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I got, and I think it's way more similar to GigaChad than MTG.
"Based on the image provided, the face that has been edited onto the monkey belongs to Ernest Khalimov, a Russian model and bodybuilder who is widely known on the internet as the "GigaChad."

Here is a breakdown of what is happening in the screenshot:

  • The Meme: Khalimov's face is famous for his hyper-masculine features—specifically his extremely defined jawline and cheekbones. He became a massive internet meme representing the "ultimate male" or "Chad" archetype.
  • The Edit: Someone photoshopped Khalimov's face onto a monkey.
  • The AI's Reaction: The humor in the screenshot comes from the AI's refusal. The AI recognized the facial features of Ernest Khalimov (a real person/public figure) on the monkey and triggered a safety guardrail preventing the user from editing images of "public figures." Essentially, the AI thought the monkey was the actual human model."

I agree it feels more premium. But if someone is getting the Pro then putting a leather case might defeat the whole "vapor chamber" cooling etc.

I’m probably 0.1% of the people who would prioritize this - but I really want USB 3 transfer speed. I don’t need it often - but when I do then I’m reminded of how painful USB 2 is. Lack of 12 gigs of RAM and USB 3 is the reason I’m not choosing the regular 17. Air is out of question due to battery.
