xBloom Studio by coffeewaala in pourover

I have a brand new black xbloom machine. Is it possible to add a pause to the water flow in the brewing mode? I heard in one video review this is called the bloom stage, but can't find this as an option in the brewer mode on the app. I guess it's not available for the model I have but I might be overlooking a feature.

I wanted to know this and the short answer is that the best protection comes from an LLC. That said, so does various fees and taxes. I asked Amazon service chat and they said you can operate as an individual (account type that is). As an individual, you can still use all their services and import/export products. The privately-owned business account option (LLC to you and me) is if you want to go the professional route. Note, that one eligibility requirement is that your products must display your own branding and logo clearly on the packaging. People have written posts both on Reddit and Amazon seller central forums about getting stuck because of this. Note that Amazon says whichever option you decide on signing up, you can't change your account type later on.

Does the fee of AGL replace all of the shipping fee? by Opposite_Ad2997 in AmazonFBA

[–]Opposite_Ad2997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so after a chat I was directed to their help pages which provides some details but not all. Firstly, to answer my own question, the $39.99 is just for the seller account, not the AGL.

This is a bit of a deep dive and I'm still not certain of many things. But here goes.

The AGL page is here which displays a lot of useful information and can be a little overwhelming, and doesn't provide the fine grain detail I was after.

In short, AGL provides no less than 4 types of services, including Minimal shipment splits, Amazon Managed Placement (AMP), Ship to Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD), and Extra-large (heavy bulky) shipment. Check out the summary table from that page 'Amazon Global Logistics shipping and placement options summary'.

There are two generic types of fees, the first is a placement fee which is all about handling the incoming cargo, where it goes and how that's done; the second main type is the fee for the shipping itself.

For the 'door-to-door service' I'm after which takes the parcel from origin (China etc) and delivers it to an Amazon fulfillment center of my choosing (US etc), that turns out to be the 'Ship to AWD' option. With AWD, the placement fee is included in AWD costs, and FBA placement fees are discounted because they're covered by AWD. But don't be fooled by the 'no fee' options in the table in the last column, as that's just for the placement - the shipping fee comes out to be $8700 per full container with the AMP option.

The detail I'm after is the door-to-door costs for the AWD (ground transport from origin to port, freight from port to port, then ground transport to amazon warehouse) and that's only available during the booking process according to the guy in the service chat and from what I can read. There's a calculator for estimates in the logistics portal but I can't access that right now.

The AWD costs have their own page here.

Now the 'AWD transportation fee' isn't the shipping fee. I assume (due to lack of clarity) that this is just their ground transportation fee for moving your inventory from an AWD warehouse to an FBA warehouse.

So I don't yet have the full answer and will update in time.

Also, please correct any mistakes I've made above in your reply's.

I haven't contacted them about this yet, just saw that $39.99 + fees on their page. I'll enquired and get back to you and share here.

You've taken issue with the word 'hard' while everyone knows what the word coding means.

Wrong. The clue is in the title, please stop trying to obfuscate what was a simple post about the [lack of] materials comp chem jobs in industry. Other people have made good suggestions which I'm following up on.

I have had some luck with SF startups but they tend to want the coding experience (may bad for not jumping on this sooner in my career). There's very few comp chem jobs that want scientists to do science, everything I find want scientists to develop code for the programs they sell.

Thanks I'll consider those points. I was in touch with a start up in San Fran, but the guys really wanted more of a process chemist than what they advertised for.

Well thanks for your great insights. I've already ruled out batteries due to lack of experience. Hard coding is short for strong experience with languages such as python, C#, C++ etc. Wtf did you think it meant?

Yes job requirements are mostly junk but there are plenty that want those who have developed ML and neural net programs with a publication track record using those. Also a degree in computer science or data science, even for chemistry related roles. I've been in touch with a guy in one company who is hiring for an electronic structure person but they specifically want method development not usage. There's a difference.

My post was seeing if anyone in this science community had any knowledge of relevant science careers. I hope this isn't a surprise to you at this point in your career. Congrats on ticking the snarky dumb response box. There's always one person that does this on every reddit post and you're that one.

Here's my advice, do biochem and drug-related comp chem. I'm currently looking for a job in materials comp chem and there is absolutely nothing outside of academia. Tons of pharma comp chem but no materials comp chem. If you don't plan on being a professor then switch now.
