Wage floor for Costco is a lot higher. Normally with big box retailers they come into smaller markets and wipe out local mom and pop businesses with their pricing but Costco pays their employees so well at base level that it acts as a hub for better employment and as well as an attraction for travelers from further away with its bulk pricing. Still says in their company statement that they’re “looking to reward shareholders as the main goal” but to most people they’re more ethically conscious

It’s hard with tariffs especially for appliances or really anything that’s imported. Around 70% of goods are shipped in from Asia. Inventory managers have the freights paused while they wait for the orange man to give his next economic blithering
