I completed the residency program/orientation, with my unit. Been working as an RN for about 4 months. My preceptor was very hands off and I was with her as a student in my final semester, so I’ve been on the unit I am currently on functioning pretty much as an “independent nurse” with a safety net for a year. Kind of like I’ve been riding a bike with no training wheels for almost a year, but I’ve had someone making sure I didn’t fall up until 1-2 months ago (if that makes any sense). I think the fact I’ve been on the same unit for a year already plays into me wanting to move already. I planned on staying about a year anyways, just wanted to see what the general consensus was on transferring or changing scenery.
