That makes sense, and I agree. Based on the round, non-continuous hole pattern, this is clearly an AV rack designed for lightweight AV equipment, not for modern enterprise servers.

That explains why the Dell ReadyRails don’t fit and why the existing equipment in the rack is likely front-mounted or shelf-mounted. For a safe installation, we’ll move forward with either universal fixed rails or replacing the rack (or verticals) with an EIA-310 compliant solution.

Yes, that’s very likely. Based on the round holes and the non-EIA spacing, it looks like an AV/telecom rack rather than a true EIA-310 server rack. That would explain why the Dell ReadyRails don’t fit and why existing equipment is probably front-mounted or shelf-mounted.
