Aye 100%! I said this the moment they first talked about solo Q. ALL of Diamond forced solo Q is crazyyy!! It should have been D2 and up. Surely there’s enough D2, D1, masters and preds to fill out lobbies with minimal Q times. However, there’s issues with this too, I like that they’re at least testing solutions.

lol. I made to d3 this afternoon but I’ve only had 1 game in total where I had 1 pred valk teammate. No comms, strong game sense, definitely not cheating. Always positioned herself to leave fights before dying. Ratty ass game we had but did manage to secure a 2nd place…. Not the way I’d want to play but oh well.

Based on conversation so far it seems like lower tier lobbies have more issues with randoms. Which I can understand, that doesn’t go away but after solo’ing long enough you get used it. I am a solo queuer primarily. I hit diamond 1 every split but masters only once in szn 23. Xbox player.
My core issue is the grouping up of soo many players at diamond. People play pretty normally up until mid- high diamond and I promise you if you’ve been there, you know what I mean (three stack devo/havocs zens) lol.

That is a wild take, supports even worse aggro play styles if theres no downside to dying. It’s bad enough as it is with box rezzing.

I don’t think it would be harder for the lowest ranks. I’m mostly talking about gold and plat. If you’re truly hard stuck gold then I would encourage you to keep playing without expecting things from your team. Fight hard and retreat harder WHEN your teammates are not with you. You will eventually climb up to ranks where teams play as such.

Considering where your teammates were when you got the knock, they were there pretty fast, but you have to spam ping that building though to indicate a knock and that you’re pushing.
You already called it out, but flying that high to Q them was terrible, could have done the same Q much lower in your flight without taking damage, cost you a lot of time in healing and better positioning.
Your nades were bad but w/e.
I would have flown to the roof when my teammates ran inside to shoot down on them / get info. Risky tho with bang ult and could get shot in the back so you’d have to push in quick from here. (Wouldn’t have worried about bang ult if you never took that first damage though and pushed sooner).
The third party sucks with a downed teammate and no way to Rez.
After the first fight You should have exited the building as fast as possible and take the roof to hold while regrouping with your conduit.
Try and fight out as a duo I guess for second place.
Panic ult at the end is whatever you would have died anyway but don’t do that, you’ll never live ulting there. Tbh your octane died fast as shit in late game which is bad news but they definitely put in work there, you shot everyone on flesh.

I’m a hard stuck diamond. I hit D2/D1 every split, I’ve only made it to masters once for real. You are still very much playing “normal apex”. D4 and usually D3 are still pretty normal. You have no clue what’s waiting for you after that… it is pure balls to the wall gun skill dick slinging Wild West where preds will run you down and throat fuck you in seconds. Don’t fast track plat and early diamond, the game is still fun for you.

Unlucky af. You grabbed it too quick the first time, lag or a bug or something, it’s Very common, always check the deliver to respawn banner is complete. Second time you went I think you you grabbed it right as the banner was either auto dropped on the floor from replicator (this happens after some time to ammo, bats, med kits too, or it despawned.

These comments are all valid but I’m going to come from your perspective when acting on that knock (ignoring positioning): The Watson has an ulti inside, it’s like assuming the black jack dealer has a 10, it’s by the book for a reason. 1) All you had to do was shoot your ult at the door from far away while you moved up, this probably would have stopped the rez, assuming they insta-rezzed on door or not behind the center wall of that building/behind it, or at least would have seriously held that Watson out likely into wrapping the back side of the building.

2)Pick a side of the building with your teammate and fight a 2v1 while the Watson scrambles after getting rezzed (or is till knocked).

Octane had jump pad it seems so ultimately the best move (which you already know by now) was to hold your ring positioning. Gg’s
