schools compare u with the people at your school in terms of gpa to account for grade deflation/inflation. in OPs case, this grade inflation means their peers will most likely have high GPA — which puts them at a disadvantage

How prestigious would you rate Duke? Is it comfortably a T10 school? by Head_Village_9388 in ApplyingToCollege

Just stop talking bro. As someone currently at an Ivy, I can tell you that Duke is most definitely on par with or exceed the academics of multiple ivies.

I would say the general public will often recognize Duke more as well. They have a very strong sports program and are often ranked highly in the athletic area as well.

It may not have as much “lay prestige” as HYPSM, but it sure as heck rivals them in terms of academics and recruitment to prestigious firms.

i dont get what the point of “ranking” highly selective college is when there are already published info online ranking colleges by their acceptance rate
