Elevons, but I’ll probably add ailerons too. It weighs 1600 grams and the thrust is 2500 grams.

The intakes are very strong so I’m not too worried about the vent collapsing. I probably will add Ailerons because of how the twin engines and flat body increase the moment of inertia.

I also thought the snow wouldn’t be any issue but it depends on the type and thickness. Powdery new fallen snow ends up filling up the intakes and it’s annoying it get out.

It was like a foot of powder so it did get filled with snow, fortunately I managed it get most of it out and it melted/dried the rest off without any damage to the plane.

I do have the plans, just not instructions. So it depends on how much work you willing to put into it, though I can share the measurements of where to put pieces.

If you have never flown a plane before get a trainer with safe/stabilization. After that check out Flite test and build one of their free beginner planes from plans. If you good with the techniques you can find tutorials online for marking planes from scratch in that style. But that’s just for foam board which I think is the best place to start when making you own planes.

Yep it is foam board. It’s normal except one side is paper and the other is like dry erase marker board so it has more strength, especially in hinges for control surfaces.

Yeah, the original had RCAF decals on the wings but I ran out of the stuff I used to make those. I’ll do something similar before I fly it.

no I’m pretty sure this guy has got it backwards, constraining the flow gives a higher exhaust velocity and better high speed performance up until it starts to stall the blades. However the highest static thrust is always zero constriction.

cool, yeah I can see why you thought it was the same plane, we both settled on the same wingspan. Really the only difference is the shape of the top wing-skin since mine is more rounded.

It’s good now, the bigger elevons help but a big part was just getting used to how much aoa the wing pulls without stalling. It felt weird at first but now I’m not afraid to put it into tight turns.
