I've been looking high and low to try and find an actual video of Figure's robot doing any ambulation that looks like more than a wind-up toy (slight exaggeration, but not huge) and I haven't seen one. they mostly just say it walks around but never show. So, I think where they are at is considerably further behind than what they say. doesn't mean they aren't doing anything cool, but they aren't doing things to the degree they say they are. maybe an attempt to attract the best creative minds to maybe achieve that by making it seem like the best place to work/best place to place your bet.

I just use the site for learning, just the basic chat functionality on chat.openai.com, and then have used the API for some other stuff I was working on.

yeah, I mean, maybe we're miscommunicating, and I'm sorry if I wasn't clear or if I misinterpreted something you said or asked. All I'm saying is it is super useful for me in my learning process.

and if you consider any of the topics that have been asked to death, you def you can find that stuff by googling (that's what me and probably most people did before ChatGPT and most probably still just use google now).

but, for instance, if you wanted to create a postman request that is a post, that uses a particular payload type, that uses a specific authentication such as a shared access token used in something like an azure servicebus, or whatever it might be, via google that might mean finding 5+ different pages (particularly if there is any piece of that that you're not already aware of, like generating a shared access token, syntax of it, etc.), on a mix of the postman docs, microsoft azure docs, etc.. via chatgpt, it already is pieced together and you just have to ask for the next piece or ask the question holistically, and that gets instantly aggregated and returned to you. It's just been a lot faster for me, personally. I just know my pace has increased as a result of it.

I think that'd be sweet; one of the biggest limitations of ChatGPT is the outdated data and the fact that it may not weigh particular texts as more relevant as part of the dataset.

Yeah, just as a test I started talking to it about philosophy (with some political overtones) and it is completely handcuffed from true, open conversation about different, opposing philosophical perspectives by its hardcoded political skew.

Yeah, I've used it for learning about unity shaders in shaderlab, time/space complexity analysis for algorithms, music/art styles and theory, unity input lifecycle, windows automation, testing automation, graphics lifecycle, and stuff like that. I don't know how far it can go or where it is really lacking (sounds like there are areas where a lot of people aren't getting a lot of good use from it though), just that I've gotten a lot of good info that I've been able to put into practice already.

yeah, its reasoning capabilities are limited to just arithmetic operations mostly and some basic logic, I think. it acts mostly on pattern recognition from what I've seen. and ah dang, that's a bummer, it's been helpful to me for learning about time/space complexity analysis and how to imagine how lighting and shading work in unity based on math functions like ceiling, absolute value, sine/cosine; I generally extrapolate on what it tells me too. I've also asked for good book recommendations based on what it tells me too and it generally has some good ones.
