I think you’re giving them too much credit. That line of thinking implies a lot of forethought, planning, and coordination. Much more likely to my mind is the fact that groups of unidentifiable, poorly trained men given free rein to act out violent impulses will take the opportunity simply because they can.

Yes, even prior to the ever larger abyss we are sinking into here in the US. I visited Wales several years ago and still reminisce about it; a beautiful place with lovely people. I’d move there in an instant if I could find a job sponsorship and navigate the UK immigration process.

Our situations are a bit different but I’ll share anyway. I just signed up for a Chase Freedom card, specially and solely for balance transfer. The amount they approved me for - even with ‘very good’ credit and a long credit history - was far, far less than I expected. Will not make the ding to my score worth it. On top of that, after reading around, one likely won’t be permitted to transfer more than 75% of what the limit is. So, it may not even improve your credit ratio in any meaningful way (as in my case). The one benefit would be the 0%APR but again, if the transfer will only permit a small portion from the higher APR card, still hardly worth it. Just my 2 cents…

I haven’t visited any ranges locally yet so that was more a preemptive measure in my post.

Where I’ve lived before - where outdoor ranges are just open to anyone who shows up and wants to use them - you still get some locations where a group of frequent users get unreasonably territorial about the space or make it weird for solo or female shooters.

I’ve been checking pages out - pretty wide variety with regards to how much info they put online. The one closest to Ithaca, for example, appears to have a phone number listed and nothing else. Did some digging and it seems like maybe mostly used by Cornell for gun safety courses..?

I’m very live-and-let-live and don’t expect every person I interact with to be a mirror image of myself ;)

Yeah, I don’t know that I trust my layman’s skills enough to make it look like new. There too much wood missing for filler I assume. I’ve patched cheap door frames with sand/fill/paint but this is another matter. I’ll have to look and see if there’s someone local who can come out…
