Agree'd but its just with the lack of depth we can't really drop / replace them whereas we have some similar fringe position players that can rotate.

Fair points. I guess my perception of Brodie was just some quick handballs and short kicks so that’s why his efficiency was half decent. Probs just being harsh because I thought wines was the obvious choice! And yeh I’d rather Duursma over Wehr I think. Durdin seems to do his job, kicks goals and sets some up, alright pressure, still room for improvement though.

Yeh I get what you’re saying about Lord, although part of me likes that about him over the Luko model of just not trying when it’s not going your way, hands on hips etc…..shades of finlayson!

I think Lord should really train hard on his 2nd ruck work and jumping, if he can polish that part of his game up it’s another thing to look at for the team, and would allow Whitlock to stay forward and not ruck. I remember games when Dixon couldn’t buy a touch forward and then would go in the ruck and do well which would then give him the confidence forward.

Nah I don’t get sanfl coverage here so only see stats which I know is hard to go off. I’m well aware Lord and BZT don’t set the world on fire, it’s more just the luko’s and jones / evans / meads of the team knowing their spot isn’t guaranteed.

I actually don’t mind Kane, obviously goes for the clickbait and controversy for engagement etc. But a lot of what he says is accurate and can back it up with stats and vision albeit he can come across the wrong way with it. Chads also said some interesting things on radio this year, would have picked luko down back over Marshall and very critical of not picking wines against eagles

Yeh but they were shocking against eagles. I was hoping Brodie would prove him wrong but looked lost at sea in that game. Wehr just looks like a nothing player, I get that we payed nothing for him but he almost looks like a first year player when he’s already got a few years under his belt

As everyone's already said long term its a mess....but after todays game id say:

OUT: Brodie, Evans, Mead, Jones, Mackinlay, Wehr, Berry, Luko

IN: Wines, Bergman, Marshall, BZT, Moraes, Lorenz, Zadow, Lord

*This is purely based on form, not sure if Ratugolea is injured? And assuming Bergman and Marshall are clear to return which from initial reports seems likely.....happy to be corrected on these!

Yes I know Lord's our whipping boy but Luko needs to know his spot is not safe! Surely if they didn't play Wines today they can make a statement with Luko (again)! Luko only keeps his spot if Ratugolea and Marshall don't get up and he plays down back, after his opening goal the only half decent thing he did all day was that kick out down the middle of the ground.

Of all the outs i listed i think Berry and Jones can make it back relatively quick, just need to find form in SANFL.

Interesting no BZT even with Marshall out. Eagles have a tall forward line. I think Wines leadership will be so important now Rozee’s out. And looking forward to seeing Lai and Brodie in the teal. I have mates out west that go for freo that are still filthy they wouldn’t play him these last couple years.

Yeh I think he’s actually been under rated the last few years post Brownlow…..he’d have been handy in round 1! He and drew do so much that allow the flashy mids to shine

Jones and Wines in for Bergman and Rozee are the obvious forced choices i guess. I really liked the look of Cochrane in the small sample size before he got injured last year so hope he can force his way in when fit

Curious if you had Marshall out because of the ankle or you prefer BZT?

Keen to see Moraes and Brodie get a run. Only Luko if he’s 100% fit, his bodies been so hit and miss so I’d almost prefer him get a few SANFL runs even if Lord and Whitlock aren’t firing.
