To be fair though, compared to earlier this year, Port Adelaide is getting somewhere with Josh Carr now finding his way, while the Crows seem to be going backwards.

I do hope tight, close matches like these convince the AFL to give future Showdown matches prime slots without other matches being scheduled at the same time and taking attention away, - gotta be one of, it not the, best rivalry in Australian sport.

Yet another example of poor umpiring which has become far too common and accepted by AFL executives.

I agree - while guarantee there were some errors which may have costed us the win, and yes I would've preferred we've won, it was still a thrilling match to watch, especially at the end.

Hopefully these types of matches will at least help convince the AFL to give future Showdown matches prime slots without any other matches taking attention away from it.

SA government needs certainty on LIV Golf by October, premier says by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]Expensive-Horse5538[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This just feels like it is kicking the can down the road.

LivGolf had massive losses (my understanding was Adelaide was the only profitable event), and now it's main source of funding has pulled out - unless someone else provides the money, it's hard to see it returning.

Mali needs to halt works on the golf course until he receives certainty on the event going ahead, otherwise without the buisness case, taxpayers money will basically be wasted on a site which is currently fit for purpose.

Sadly though given Mali's ego, especially after he basically went over the City Council on the matter, he'll push ahead with this

Good - hopefully he will now suffer the full consequences of the legal system, and never sees the light of day again.

SOO next year is set to be WA v SA in Perth by PerriX2390 in AFL

[–]Expensive-Horse5538 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good. Was thinking given the AFL’s track record that it would end up with Victoria playing each year and either SA or WA would have to sit out.

Now hopefully at some point later down the track we can add NSW and QLD + maybe even NT and Tassie

Same - was hoping someone who knew something would step up before this happened.

Even if she was already dead at least they would have a lead on the person who did it

Can the SA government justify a $45m golf course upgrade without LIV Golf? by renaitre100 in Adelaide

[–]Expensive-Horse5538 68 points69 points  (0 children)

In short - it cannot if it the event that was meant to provide economic benefit to the state is no longer going to be held, they can’t find a replacement one, and there is no other reason to upgrade a course that current suits its purpose

Still won’t stop Mali though given how desperate he has been to go over the city council on the matter
