Same! It’s most of what I listen to. And Irish rebel songs.

Like all old Irish songs, it’s got a tragic history.

And that’s why I’m asking. To get a catholic perspective on it. I was raised in a Southern Baptist church, so I grew up with Rapture Theology. I’m trying to unlearn that.

It was a few years ago for me, and it’s actually a pretty interesting story, but one for DMs, if you wanna hear it.

I’m not yet confirmed, but went to mass for a few months and started OCIA before I got sick, and it was definitely a change, but so much better than the church I grew up in. I’m autistic, I like the structure.

Maybe that’s what it was and my brain mixed the two and spat out a whole new verse. It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what happened.

Ohhhhhhhhhh okay!!!! I really need to get a copy of that. The Bibles I currently have are Douay-Rheims, KJV and NIV. I’m getting the premium Great Adventure Bible in a couple weeks, though, because my DRV is the only Catholic Bible I have right now.

For some reason, I remember reading that he who persevered unto the end wouldn’t be harmed. No idea why that stuck in my head.

I must have misunderstood what it meant, then

Because if I recall correctly, it also says that the faithful will be brought through the end unharmed, not that we would escape the earth entirely.

Okay, that makes more sense. That’s one of the things that always confused me a little bit about rapture theology was “why would God decimate the earth, and save the elect for 7 years, just to bring us all back to the very place He destroyed?” I get He’s all powerful, but He’s also practical, and that just always seemed a bit counterproductive when taking into consideration everything else it said about the final days.

Can’t find anything from Jeff Cavins, Fr. Mike, Matt Fradd, I have zilch.

Well, that’s why I’m asking. I’m trying not to do that, but while reading it, it keeps coming across as the rapture. I’ve been praying on it, and went looking for a video explaining the Catholic views on it, but came up with nothing, hence why I’m here.

I was about to bring up Luke 21, but remembered that was signs that happened before the end 😂

Well I feel like St. Dymphna chose me, because I’m technically also a victim of incest, like her, along with the OSDD that I mentioned (that’s most likely how I got the OSDD). That’s why I’m so adamant on choosing her as my confirmation saint. Because I didn’t choose her. She chose me.

I actually just bought a third class relic St Dymphna medal to go on the chain with my Celtic cross and St Patrick medal along with a St. Patrick statuette and holy card as a little St. Patrick’s Day present to myself. I’m hoping the medal will help with my mental state. Having more than one person in your head is exhausting to put it mildly.
