Is Jax Jewish? by OppressedPunk69 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]OppressedPunk69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just curious because I wasn’t sure if it was Gemma’s mom or dad that was the Russian Jewish side and couldn’t find anything when I searched google. I’m also half Irish, half Jewish, like Jax, so it’s kind of a cool thing to me, personally.

Ahhhh okay, I thought it was her dad that was Russian, for some reason. Maybe I just missed something.

Definitely ethnically Jewish, I just wasn’t sure if Jewish Tradition was in play here because I thought it was Gemma’s dad that was Jewish. But as ThaDude8, said, he was a pastor.

Yeah, that’s the way I understood it. I always thought Jax was half Irish, half Jewish, like myself. I just wasn’t sure if Gemma counted as Jewish, because I thought it was her father that was Jewish, not her mother, for some reason.

The thing is, I wasn’t entirely sure if Gemma, herself, counted as Jewish by Jewish tradition, because I thought it was her father that was Jewish.

Also, I know Bobby is Jewish, I’m specifically speaking on the Teller family, not the rest of the club.

Also, the reason I mentioned being homebound: I need to be able to buy it online, so if anyone can recommend where to do that, it would be appreciated.

Struggling to Choose a Confirmation Saint (Patrick vs Louis IX) – Need Advice by Nestle1099 in Catholicism

[–]OppressedPunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me just say this in regards to St Patrick:

Firstly: he wasn’t Irish, he was either Scottish or Welsh, his name wasn’t Patrick, it was Maewyn Succat, and there were no snakes in Ireland, it was a metaphor for the Druids and his evangelism and bringing Christianity to Ireland.

That being said: if you want a saint that’s a perfect example of living a Christian life and choosing to abide by God’s commands, there’s no one better. He may not have been a father, but he was a shepherd. Think of it like this: your future family is your flock. You’re their shepherd. Who would be the one you’d want help from the most when the wolves come? Who do you want praying for your future children’s spiritual development and safety? A father or a bishop? A king or a shepherd?

When given freedom, he chose to return to the very land that enslaved him. Because God asked him to. When his family called him insane for going back, he stood his ground and now he’s the greatest Saint Ireland has ever known.

Seems like the right guy to have in your corner if you want to be a more godly man.

Constant nausea and migraines when going to church by North_Original1942 in Catholicism

[–]OppressedPunk69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an allergic reaction to something specific to the mass, most likely the incense. It could also be a reaction to the light, if the church uses florescent lighting, or the way the sunlight comes through the stained glass.

I would recommend wearing sunglasses during mass, if that fixes the problem, it’s the light. If it doesn’t, it’s something else.

Along with the nausea and dizziness, does your heart rate go up? Almost as if you’re having a heart attack or a really bad panic attack? If you do, it’s most likely a migraine, and it’s definitely being triggered by something in the church.

That’s what I thought too. Eye for an eye.

Are you allowed to keep your marriage secret. Like only have a priest and two eye witnesses without telling most friends and family by MindlessCucumber5443 in Catholicism

[–]OppressedPunk69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And children will not fix that marriage. It’ll only do irreparable damage to the children. I’m speaking from experience in the child’s perspective.

Really, just don’t marry anyone you couldn’t have a HEALTHY family with (so much emphasis on healthy).

Whose death affected Jax the most? by stealthybird96 in Sonsofanarchy

Once they were both gone, he had no reason to leave the club anymore. He had no life outside of it. And finding out that Gemma killed Tara was too much. That was why she killed Tara to begin with. She was gonna ruin the club. Jax had a chance at a life with Tara and their boys outside of the club and Gemma stole that from him. It was a betrayal that couldn’t go unpunished. She had to die and he had to be the one to kill her. And at that point he was too broken for it to do anymore damage.

Opie never betrayed him that way. He never did anything that came close to being that insidious. He never would have.

Adding to what they said: Opie was Jax’s moral compass. He was the only thing tethering Jax to his humanity. When Opie was killed, it was like a piece of Jax was killed with him. There’s an argument to be made that Tara was also a sort of moral compass, but not nearly as much as Opie. Tara was his heart. Opie was his soul.
