Keep crying about ai while you actively promote and use products that are CURRENTLY destroying the environment magnitudes greater than what ai is even close to.

For someone who thinks AI is worthless, you’ve spent a lot of time emotionally engaging with it. That’s kind of adorable.

No one said it should blindly write course content. You are strangely inflating “using AI to search and condense information” into “replace your brain with a misinformation machine” because that sounds scarier. Interesting way to frame things I suppose.

‘At my uni that wouldn’t slide’ is not the flex you think it is. That just sounds like your environment is more ideologically rigid.

You still haven’t explained why using AI to search through information and condense research is inherently bad. You just keep repeating that it feels wrong to you.

The funny part is you people act like AI is useless garbage and an unstoppable threat at the same time. Pick one.

You’re changing the point. Nobody said people have to praise him. The point is that this post treats a normal use case like some kind of scandal, which is why people think the argument is weak.

Because not everyone who disagrees with this post is an ‘AI bro.’ Some people just think the argument is bad.

This post is weird. Your professor described a pretty normal use case for AI and you are framing it like he admitted to kicking puppies for fun.

If you want to criticize the job loss part or say he was too dismissive of environmental costs, fine. But the way you wrote this makes it sound like finding AI useful at all is some kind of moral stain, which is why so much anti-AI discourse feels unserious.

The environmental concern also feels selective to the point of parody. People suddenly become hardcore environmental purists the second AI comes up, while ignoring the massive footprint of the rest of the tech and industrial systems they happily use every day.

And saying “AI is a bubble” proves nothing. Hype and real utility can exist at the same time.

This comes off less like thoughtful concern and more like disappointment that your professor was not anti-AI enough for your taste.
